Post subject: | THE SHARK OFFER... |
Your Chicago White Sox will be making an offer to Jeff Samardzija this week....guessing the "Hometown Discount" is going to be part of that offer and that will determine if he stays or becomes trade bait. Have no idea of the offer. My source: Ken Rosenthal....as far as you know |

denisdman wrote: It'd have to be higher than what the Cubs offered, I assume? Correct, but the offer is coming...I think Jeffers is really thinking $100 mill, 5 years and if that isnt out there, he would then start talking hometown discounts to both teams.... |

$20 per seems about right. I wouldn't want to go out five years with him, but starting pitching is crazy expensive right now. |

Jerry will ask him to take less than Sale for 5 years and $5M per year for 10 years 10 years from now. |

Even something like 4 years at 15 million a year is too much for this fuck but he'll get it. |

Post subject: | Re: THE SHARK OFFER... |
He's going to get $20 million a year assuming he's healthy and doesn't get destroyed from this point on. I'm sure the White Sox are going to make an offer as well, and it will probably be rejected since he's made it clear he wants to hit free agency. White Sox can't afford losing streaks if they did want to avoid being sellers. They need another 10 out of 12 (or whatever the amount of game is prior to July 31). That's probably not likely given how they struggle to score runs. |

Post subject: | Re: THE SHARK OFFER... |
The reality is Shark is dumb not to go to free agency and the Sox are dumb to pay him what he should get. Even if he doesn't deserve it in our minds. |

I have a feeling this is getting out for PR purposes before the selloff and because they are not getting the level of offers they would like for him |

good dolphin wrote: I have a feeling this is getting out for PR purposes before the selloff and because they are not getting the level of offers they would like for him Partially agree, they do want to make sure it is known they made an offer...but this is another Sox MO, they announce contract offers when JR thinks it benefits him...like the Mags deal...when per JR they offered him $75M for 5 years, just like Detroit did....but that 5th year was $1M a year for 15 years....so it isnt $15M, its the PV of $15 M and is more like $10 M.... Is Shark takes the offer, I would be really surprised. You went this long on that FA talk, gotta follow thru. |

JR will make his signature move of trying to negotiate with the player outside of the presence of his agent. Maybe he has some kind of vampire skills where he makes them look into his eyes |
