So don't talk to me about playoffs until about 9 pm today (maybe earlier if Sale is rolling).

I would usually agree but an exception can be made this year with a down American League. When the Minnesota Juggernauts are leading the 2nd wildcard with a 52-48 record every team is in contention.

This team will come back to reality soon enough.
Not a Contender.

Why can't the last 3 months be the reality? This team is 41-38 since May 1st. I'm not saying that playing at a .518 clip makes the Sox a division or WS contender, but it is absolutely a WC contender this season.

So you wouldn't have called the Royals a contender a year ago today?

The Sox have spent 3 days this season at or above .500

Slow down ..

We don't need jealous Cub fans in this thread.

they're shitting all over my idea to sell everything from last week.

to put on my optimism hat, this team has a nice playoff pitching rotation.... ideally no danks, i wish the angels were closer so it was 2 open spots within 2.5 games

That deal is done. Toronto seems to be overpaying. Daniel Norris for a rental?

Great for the Cubs. Won't lose a draft pick when they sign him this winter.

Norris, Labourt and Boyd. Norris and Labourt are legit. Boyd stinks. Another bold move by the Jays. AA's last stand. Playoffs or bust!

While I agree with Senor Dolphin, I will continue to agree with going for it. Was surprised at the Sox fan base with the requests to trade everyone...like Shark. Became obvious that you arent getting much for him, so why not go for it?

Its the Chip and a Chair theory, why not play the hand instead of just folding?

7 days ago they were 8 games under .500 after losing 5-6 out of the ASB with no offense. Melky took his Flintstones, gave a little to Eaton/Sanchez and BOOM!

All I know is if the Sox do get into a best of 7, they've got a decent chance with Sale and Shark pitching 4 games.

But the Blue Jays are clearly the favorites to get the last Wild Card now that they got Price.

Cause they are short stacked, their are 6 people still in the hand ...n they are holding 4 9 offsuit.

What if they got KQ Suited and flopped the rest of a straight flush? But you aint finding out if you folded and kept your chip for a hot dog and soda!

White Sox are 4-7 against Royals and 4-9 against the Twins to date. They somehow managed to own the Astros, but outside of that their record against teams over .500 is un-impressive. The 2014 Royals pass the smell test better than the 2015 White Sox. They were a younger team that played better baseball. The Sox cannot field and up until recently cannot hit. They are not making the wild card. Period.

If they had KQ suited ....they would be the Royals .

They have 4 of hearts , 9 of clubs ...the flop came King , duece , Jack all spades . they need runna runna to make a hand ... They have like a 3% chance.

The Cubs are good against teams over .500. World Series!

I don't think that's an unfair expectation; granted, the White Sox are just a few games behind the wildcard leaders; if they survive their upcoming stretch of games with the Yankees, Cubs, Angles, etc., things will be looking good.

Anyone who calls the 2015 White Sox a contender has not watched a lot of 2015 White Sox baseball.
