You have enough on your plate worrying about all the Babe Ruths that are busting out before our eyes. Looks like the Core Four is down to a Lonely One.

The 10 game improvement they'll likely have not enough for you?

Young players never get better. They are always good right away.

(this is more a response to your "they'll magically get better next year" post that I forgot to respond to)

Rick, its not enough for YOU

Correct. I'm done if they don't make the playoffs.

Sometimes they do get better, but don't tell me the prevailing wisdom among Cub fans isn't that they're all going to get automatically better. Isn't that why you're "a year early"? Keyser Soze is still waiting for Gordon Beckham to get better.

I'm sure next year Addison Russell will be a little better. Anthony Rizzo is likely to be a little worse. I'm not sure how that's a recipe for a World Series.

Did you miss the Rizzo HR last night and Bryant's a couple nights ago? Russell will be fine. Solar is the only one I am worried about. But no one expected all the prospects to be all-stars. No need for them to blow their wad like Gordon Beckham. Do you think Rodon is going to be an all-star JORR? He is not blowing anyone away this year.

Bigfan isn't quitting baseball if the Sox don't make the playoffs. He cares about a 3 year plan.

Rizzo is not a member of the "Core Four".

1) Bryant- good to great MLB player (probably not good enough for most Cub fans, certainly not Babe Ruth)
2) Baez- busted out. Most fans are praying for him to be traded
3) Soler- you said it yourself
4) Almora- taking a long time and hitting like a Kenny Williams draft pick

I would bet that Rodon pitches in an All-Star game at some point in his career. That isn't a really high bar.

I like the way this thread started off as a Sox fan troll thread from BigFan but morphed within one post to a classic JORR Cubs fan troll. JORR has all the lures and hooks to snag Cubs fans.

I need to apologize to RPB. I said the Cubs would be lucky to be .500 this year, and he challenged me on it. They look well on their way to a solid season. At least I always supported the Plan. And I watch both teams regardless of record or performance. I'll be at another Cubs game on Wednesday, upper deck box.

Not trolling, just like hearing the variations of a plan that never existed in the first place.

I know the players 3 year plan.

They have 3 really good to great young pitchers under their control. All they need are bats.

Call Theo. It's not that simple but pitching is usually the hard part. Trading Sale to a team like the Dodgers could take care of all of that. Because of his talent and salary he may be the most valuable player in baseball.

This topic, like attendance is over. The new issue is how they did it. It's unacceptable, the losing for years before winning.

of course that in itself is an admittance they have become a great team....so

Oops what? Did I miss something? The Core Four is busted. Bryant is Swisher and the other three are marginal big leaguers.

Yeah, I'm really envious of Albert Almora. Kenny drafts one like him every year. It's just that no Sox fan is dumb enough to think Courtney Barnett or Keenyn Ivory Wayans or P.T. Barnum is a core of anything.

Your team is having a good year. Enjoy it. I'm happy for you. But if you really think it's because of the poor fielding and weak hitting position players you're kidding yourself.
