the sanctity of US Cellular will be forever tarnished. do the 8K that show up to games really care about a new video board? the sox are so assbackwards. |

the funny thing about past 5 years is the difference in approach between the two franchises. the long running criticism was fans go to USCF to watch baseball and cubs fans to Wrigley to party. and yet here we are in 2015 where only one franchise is focused on creating an exciting great on-field product while the other thinks bacon-on-a-stick and hand-crafted artisanal churros will pack the park. |

What you seem to be missing is that one can guarantee 100% the good making of a bacon-on-stick. Nobody can guarantee a "good product on the field". You would think a fan of a team that hasn't won in 106 years would be able to grasp such a concept. Especially when that team has Hot Doug roaming its outfield. But I think it will become more clear within the next ten years when all the dreams of "multiple championships" have been dashed. |

well that's sort of my point. the narrative has been cubs fans don't care and will show up regardless of the on-field product while sox fans will only show if the team is good. so it's amusing to see how inept sox management at recognizing this. they roll out all these foolish half-assed marketing gimmicks and park "improvements" when all any sox fan wants is a team that isn't an embarrassing mess on the diamond. |

The Sox aren't trying to put a shitty team on the field. They have a reasonable payroll. They just have some dopes running the show. How the fuck does Buddy Bell still have a job? |

Ok Kirko. How many Attendance Championships do the Cubs have for 90 and 100 loss teams? I don't think I have spent $40 total on tickets for the 6 games I have gone to this year. |

was the state of illinois able to say "no" for the video board? isn't there an ROI calc that should've been performed? what the point of buying a new board when no one will see it. advertisers won't pay the ad rates when they're only getting 1,500 eyeballs. |

White Sox get $5 mill a year for Capital Improvements....I assume if a Bar and Grill (Including the plates) was considered a "CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT", a video Board is a no brainer, needed or not. Jim Thompson "jerry, can the state get a % of the ads that run on that board?" Jerry R "No" Jim Thompson "Ok.....you are a tough negotiator Jerry" Jerry 'Which fund do you want me to donate this check to jim?" |

Will this obstruct anyone's view? It could possibly result in a lawsuit filed by The Neighborhood Rooftop Shooters Association. Thank you, I'll show myself out. (As more of a Sox fan than Cubs fan, I can make that joke hoping it is taken in the spirit it is given.) |

It's a sad time for a Sox fan like myself when the only retort I could think of to this post was to divide 1,500 eyeballs by two just to make sure you weren't implying 750.5 fans attended the games or something. |

Ok. So does yours. I didn't say anything about "State of IL Park" being a good thing or bad thing for the state. |

Ok. The problem is the system in which these, uh, "contracts" are obtained. The problem is not Jerry Reinsdorf. |

My source tells me that the Sox are also aggressively planning a new "triangle shaped" area next to the park that will include underground clubhouse amenities for the players, a parking deck, and shopping. |

They are trying to expand the use of the building beyond baseball |

This should allow the White Sox to finally compete and end the decade long wait for a title! I'm a huge fan of television so this may be what brings me back to baseball! |

Not sure how JORR reasons being the guy hating the TIFs and Rahm for fucking up everything and yet OK with everything in the Sox deal? I mean the Sox deal doesnt even pretend to him a real financial impact for anything but the Sox....and in reality, they have been correct. |

you got to give the Sox a hand for being realistic in their rendering. btw the center field guy is a beast. 6th biggest in MLB. Quote: The public agency that owns and operates the Chicago White Sox's home stadium will foot the $7.3 million bill for the three new signs, which are slated to be ready for the start of the team's 2016 season. |
