2005 is valid in any argument with a Cubs fan.

Wouldn't try it on stonroses though.

Championships never lose relevancy.

Beats being a year early every year.

It has lost it's relevancy. Where are the commercial endorsements for THAT team? Even Ozzie can't get local juice. Look at the '85 Bears. There are about 25,000 Sox fans in town. Soon they will die off and the team moves to Vegas.

So by that logic then 1908 is just as relevant as 2005?

Sox have the same number of championships as the Yankees since 2005.

Well, I'd say you have to factor what happens in your lifetime.

I am fine with that.

Just seems Someguys logic is off.

People still talk about 1985 with no problem.

I think the issue may come up next year as the Cubs become perennial playoff contenders and the Sox finish 4th or 5th in the AL Central. I don't think anyone on either side of the fence is going to be convinced that 2005 means anything as far as it matters today.

2005 was great and I have lots of great memories of it, but it has no bearing on today.

So we have another vote for no!

But, I will agree. When the Cubs win their second World Series title in my lifetime it can be retired!
