I think he has a higher ceiling than Flowers and Soto. After a down injury plagued year, I'll take my chances. Soto was also a backup last year, so don't let biginquisifan fool you. |

He is 28 years old, so really just entering his prime with a bounce back year a reasonable expectation. While he might not frame as well (subjective and overrated stat by the way) as Soto he does throw out runners at a higher percentage and would generally be considered a better defender. Last year's war is low compared to the rest of his career. He gets on base at a pretty decent clip, even in his bad years. That said, I'm not expecting much of an upgrade. Give me better defense and a higher OBP and I am OK with this. Dioneer Navarro was my guy but he is older and no lock to be much better. |
