Post subject: | Tim Anderson for Todd Frazier Chatter |
http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2015 ... or-bryant/: The White Sox also inquired on Frazier, but talks cooled after Cincinnati asked for the Sox top prospect Tim Anderson in return. OK Sox fans, your top brass has stated the top 3 starters are not in play despite the huge returns teams like ATL are garnering, so that means they want to win now and not rebuild. So why not acquire Frazier for Anderson?? Frazier is one of the top 3B in all of baseball, has 2 more years of team control and is 29. WTF? I make that trade. If it doesn't work out, move him. What is so great about Tim Anderson??? |

The Sox are dumb if they can do that and don't. Frazier addresses a lot of problems. |

It'll cost more than Anderson. I am pretty dead set on trying to build an average farm system around the current crop and the upcoming 3 picks in the top 50. Frazier will forget how to play baseball the instant he comes to the Sox. This is one of those moves that will not work. |

I guess Kenny isn't a fan of Frazier. |

Frazier is pretty damn good. He does get hurt occasionally. Definitely not Kenny material though. If only he played college football or was related to Leslie Frazier. |

Look at Frazier's 2nd half splits. He was pretty bad. He'll be 30 this time next year and a year away from FA. The Sox will be looking to sell him for half of what they bought him for a year prior. If the Sox are talking to the Reds theyd be better off buying on Hamilton at a fraction of Frazier's cost. If Lawrie is cheap, and he should be, go that route and keep knocking positions off the list. The "one acquisition to rule them all" is how the Sox will wind up starting Avisail Garcia, Carlos Sanchez and Tyler Saladino. Another shitty season guaranteed with that group playing every day. |

I hate to say it but the Sox are like the Hawks when Dollar Bill Wirtz was alive. After Uncle Jerry passes on, the Sox need to clean house and/or get new ownership. |

Would you rather have the same trash as last year except for a new 3B and C platoon? Or would you rather flip 5 spots in the lineup with guys who belong starting in the major leagues but have some weaknesses? If Carlos Sanchez, Tyler Saladino, Adam LaRoche and Avisail Garcia see everyday AB's it will be another wasted year. |

The Sox should be assessing the market for Sale and Quintana. Look at what ATL got for Miller. The Sox blew it. |

Anderson is a year away. One fucking year, and then there's a player that you can slot into the IF to take over for some guy signed as a 1 year stopgap at short (Asdrubal Cabrera would be fine). Anderson puts the bat on the ball and can run, he's talented... yea he might suck but at least going into 2016 they'll have one player from the minors coming that at least makes one less position they'll have to turn over. Keep Kenny away from Tim Anderson. Tell Kenny no. If he wants a new 3B he can have Brett Lawrie for Chris Beck and Courtney Hawkins, but he's not getting a 29 year old corner infielder who has nearly zero chance of being on the White Sox in 2017. Stupid fucking White Sox god they drive me completely fucking nuts all the time. |

Sale is a couple tiers above Miller and is on the most ludicrous contract in the game. How do you escalate the Miller package to Sale's level? Seager, Urias, Pederson and Puig? Dodgers won't do that. Sox would be fools to take less though. Quintana OTOH, I'm with you. If you can fleece a team for Q you do it. |

The fact that they haven't even tested the market for Q or Sale says all you need to say about this magt team. ATL got a kings ransom for Miller and the Sox tinker with the idea of acquiring Brett Lawrie. |

There are probably only a couple of teams that have the assets to get him. |

Prospects often bust, and I'm not exactly confident in the WS ability to develop a position player... Tim Anderson is still a lottery ticket, even if we don't know if he is going to be a utility man or solid regular. I wouldn't trade 6 years of control of an uncashed lottery voucher for 1 year of a declining Todd Frazier. |

Can't trade Anderson. He's the only SS in the system. Take anyone else but not him. |

Lawrie is entering his age 26 season. I still feel like he could put it all together and stay on the field and have a career year. I think Frazier probably had his career season. |

and for the record, I wasn't dissing Anderson's status as a prospect. I don't know how high his ceiling is but his floor is pretty high too. |

After seeing what Miller brought back, Sox would be really stupid if they don't trade Quintana. |

I guess they have to win now if they are paying Greinke 36M a year. All it takes is one sucker GM to jump out a window. Marlins now asking for Moon for Fernandez For #Dodgers to land Jose Fernandez from #Marlins hearing it would take Urias, Seager, Pederson and two more. #WinterMeetings — Joe Frisaro (@JoeFrisaro) December 9, 2015 |

If they want to donate Seager and a couple farm arms to the cause do it. No real health risk with ol Q. He gives 200 pretty good innings and if they're trying to cut salary that contract goes a long way. Of course they may not be interested. We don't know if Hahn has made that call. |
