Just saying Rose is great, and the rest of the team is decidedly average. Deng is having a nice year, Noah is what he is, and Boozer can't play D. Together they play well, but individually none of the other guys are anything special.
They all have talent in their own individual ways that help the team out. An average Bulls team plus Rose is what the Bulls had the last 2 years. Even if Rose had this year's stats on the past two years' teams they wouldn't be a 50 win team.
Boozer gives the inside scoring the Bulls have needed for years and years.
Noah is the defensive presence and hustle player down low that makes up for most of Boozer's deficiencies.
Luol Deng is an excellent third option scorer...18ppg from your third option is fantastic. He is now a threat from downtown and has recently improved his ability to drive.
Those are the Bulls top 4. All contribute something I deem as needed.
The collection of role-players...when compared to other teams' role-players...are vastly better than average. Asik, Gibson, Korver, Brewer, and Watson...that is not a bad second team to rotate in. Not bad at all. Those players have filled in as starters on other teams (in Gibson's case this team last year) for a reason. They are solid. Solid > average.
Those are good points. I guess when I compare their second and third best players to Miami, Boston, and LA, it seems like we have the weakest. I am not sure how they compare to San Antonio, which seems to be more of a complete team.
