I have heard some people opine that Butler cannot be a 2 guard, that he's strictly a small forward (3). But I see him finishing at the rim (dunk or layup) pretty regularly as well as drawing fouls going to the rack. That's evidence that maybe he has the skills needed. His defense at the 2 or 3 is very good. He has shown the ability to hit the mid range jumper and it seems to me that he's showing the ability to handle the rock pretty well too. If he were just scoring off jump shots, I would be skeptical. But the fact that he's drawing fouls going to the basket (and he shoots free throws very well) without losing the ball and finishing at the rim well....it's conceivable that he will take over as the top player at that position for the Bulls. Might beat having Rip Hamilton and his lousy defense and china doll nature being depended on instead.

I think what he is trying to say is that Jimmy Butler looks like he could shoot a security guard.

Jimmy's got some swagger now. His confidence is through the roof. I cant remember a players level of play changing this quickly. Credit to Thibbs but more credit to Jimmy. He's shooting without hesitation. He's running around screens to get a shot. He wants the ball. I even noticed that Jordan Strut back to the defensive side after he makes a shot or dunk. But most importantly he's guarding the shit out of his guy.

I'm not sure because I cant watch every game but he seems different since shutting down Kobe a couple of weeks ago. I think he feels he now belongs in the league.

Scary thing is, he and Rose haven't even played together yet (not really anyway). He's going to benefit so much from being on the floor with Derrick.

It's time send Rip's sorry ass home. Let Butler & Bellinelli play the 2.

A few games ago, I heard Neil & Stacy talking about Thibs keeping Rip's minutes down so he will be ready to go for the playoffs. What a crock of shit. Rip doesn't play in crunch time because he is garbage. He's this years Keith Bogans.
