Yeah, that's pretty much true. I am somewhat ambivalent about this whole Rose imbroglio. I suppose I'd care more if Rose's return vaulted the Bulls into championship territory. On the other hand, the Bulls' chances should not factor into Rose's decision, and he's already been cleared to play.

Let me play devil's advocate for the moment: Can we make analogy between Derrick Rose 2013 and Stephen Strasburg 2012? Is it valid in this case to prioritize an important player's career over the short-term goals of the team (notwithstanding arguments that say Rose, by playing, contributes to his healing process)?
