Completely agree. Wade is on the decline too. He may drop off like AI and the Heat would be done.

So you have formed that opinion of me without ever having met me or knowing me? Alrighty then.

Perhaps it makes you feel better when you rant on a sports message board & call people names. Whatever.

I don't believe you have to meet someone in person to get an idea of who they are.

You do realize that there are many here who aren't real, right?
How many times have you formed an opinion of someone, only to meet them in person & say how different they are than you thought?

As for my stance on Rose, I want him to come back and be awesome again, because he makes watching the Bulls fun. All this stuff with his brother is getting really irritating, though, and now coming out and saying it's not his job to get people to come here is kind of disappointing. I mean, technically, no, it isn't, but to come out and say that while it's become an accepted part of league business makes you look pretty checked out.

I see your point, but I think Rose can have it both ways. It's wise to publicly come out and support your teammates by saying you wouldn't ever advocate that they be replaced, but at the same time that public stance wouldn't preclude you from doing some behind the scenes kind of contact with attractive FAs who plausibly may sign with your team. Of course concealing that kind of conduct from your teammates and the wider public is a separate issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

The difference between Scorehead and ES is that I don't think SH posts his thoughts just to troll or get attention. He actually believes all the crap he posts. I know the posts in this thread aren't regarding politics, and I hate to bring it up, but Scorehead's political thoughts are the most ignorantly formed here. Chas gets a lot of crap, but he will occasionally post things that are consistent or something based on an article he read (even if it's a bad article). Scorehead just posts blanket opinions that he frames as facts with no logic or rationale whatsoever. I think there is a man with a rolodex in his head who just spins the rolodex and whatever is on the card is just blurted out by Scorehead. "Taxes are bad." "Rose is a little prick." "Tresty is the best Bears coach since Ditka." It is laughable.

If you people simply put just three people - Pissla, Shithead, and MiniDicka - on 'ignore', a lot of these nonsensical arguments simply wouldn't happen.

You can dress-up not doing so as something noble, but (a) it's absolutely not, and (b) it still doesn't make my point incorrect.

Perhaps there is a cheap thrill involved in engaging in such arguments.

Yeah, you're both right. Congress has nothing to do with our out of control debt. Their pork spending and projects buried in bills are perfectly acceptable... as long as they raise hell when we go to pay for it!

It's fucking cold in here; yes I could close the window but then what would I do after I made such a simple effort to fix a dumb 'problem'?

That's fine. And I don't completely disagree. My opinion is that he should just probably keep his mouth shut about anything not involving his actual on-court activities. It seems Derrick has the tendency to say the wrong thing a lot. Regardless of his stance on players recruiting players, there is no advantage to him publicly coming out so staunchly against it.

This.

Rose badly needs someone to handle his PR because obviously his brother is clueless about managing the court of public opinion.

I've been a Bulls fan since 1977 but frankly, after Rose laid down last year and refused to play, if they could get equal value back in trade, I'd move his ass.

IMO he has alienated the vast majority of his fan base to the point where the ONLY way he vindicates himself is to knock off LBJ and The Heat in the post season and/or to bring home a title. And by openly saying he won't recruit talent, that is just flat out stupid. Why not recruit top talent? Do you not want to assemble the best possible roster or is it all about you??

Shut the fuck up already and play basketball.

Study the career of Michael Jordan. He demanded to play when coming back from injury and he favored bringing on Dennis Rodman which resulted in 3 more titles...

Also there's a difference between having a "job opening" of sorts on the roster, and recruiting to fill that opening, vs recruiting a free agent who already plays the same position as an established player on your own team.

I'd like Derrick Rose to recruit Demarcus Cousins.

You can't have it both ways, dude. You went on this long diatribe about how he should recruit, and then after that you told him to shut the fuck up and play basketball. So which one should he be doing?

You don't have to be dropping N-bombs or saying other overt things to be racist.
