Joakim Noah responds to MVP chants today: "I don’t like it. No, I don’t like it because our MVP is not playing. We have one MVP, and that's Derrick Rose. And it’s not about MVPs, it’s about rings, and one day I hope that we can get one here."
Class act.
It depends on how you look at it. Noah is clearly the MVP because he's still on the court. Rose is the most valuable in terms of salary paid to a player. Between Adidas and the Bulls he's pulled in probably at least $75 million for playing less than a full season in the last couple years. Rose is the reason the Bulls can't get Anthony.
Noah is more valuable because he's only making around $11 million a year. However, by those standards Augustin is the biggest steal of the season at less than $700,000. If you take Augustin off the team they probably aren't anywhere near the no. 4 seed. His offense has won them more than a few games. A guy giving you 15 to 20 on a team that has problems scoring is very valuable.
