Did you watch the 4th qtr? He had a half dozen attempts to make a play to end the game. Up by five or seven or whatever, he missed shots, dribbled the ball off bodies or passed the ball to the wrong person. He is suppose to be the MAN. We saw who the man was. It was JIMMY FUCKING BUTLER baby. He scored when they needed it and he shut down scorer Monta Ellis down the stretch.
Butler is the man and deserves a max extension. The Bulls would have won easier if Rose sat in the 4th qtr. I wonder if he still considers himself the best player in the league. He's not even the best guard on this team.
earlier in the season nas said that rose was falling in love with his jumper too much; i've yet to see anything that disproves that, because even when you look at his big scoring nights recently (as if he's telling jimmy butler "IT'S STILL MY TEAM!") you'll notice that he has 2-2 from the free throw line or something, while the other night jimmy butler was only 4-9 from the field but was 7-7 from the line. that's a bit troubling.
last night was bizarro-derrick cuz his MO (at least during the first hot streak) was that he'd have horrible shooting #s in the first half but then turn it on in the 4th quarter and hit some shots. last night he was money in the first half but absolute dogshit since then, including those missed opportunities that you mentioned.
i will say that the one thing i did like to see, especially in the first half, was that derrick was attacking the basket with some regularity. but yeah, hey, dan bernstein told me that butler is struggling without dunleavy out there to play the 3, as the 2 is his position, so i'll just accept that as gospel and rock on.
