I am not a Paxson fan....Its always the coaches fault, he doesnt like the time it takes to be the GM, too much pressure...he just wants to be the guy who does...what exactly? Follows around Doug mcDermott for a year

Not sure who the Bulls would hire, but Bernstein needs to be called to conduct a mental health evaluation on any potential candidate before they hire.

Scotty Drew is on a few lists, he runs a big time program, financially speaking, but lotsa whispers about the $$$ floating around there, I would guess he is listening to offers to leave. Not that GarPax are after him. Freddy is so much the guy they love. Fits in the Paxson and Gar extension plan.

Doesn't Pax have final say on basketball things? If so, the one thing you can't knock is his talent evaluation skills. His only true bust out is Tyrus Thomas and even he stuck around the league for a while. Yes the Aldrige trade hurts but then you never end up with the number one pick and so on.

Who here liked the Noah pick. I thought it was terrible at the time but Pax knew what he was doing. Rose was hard to screw up and in hindsight you'd rather have Westbrook but he could've Leafed it and selected Beasley. Deng and Hinrich werse solid. Ben Gordon is still in the league. Taj late in the first round and James Johnson is still playing. Gotta love Butler and by the looks of it, he was right on Mitotic and Snell.

Free agency wise, Wallace and Boozed flamed out. Wallace shouldn't have been considering Skiles was coaching. Most knew that was a relationship that wasn't going to work. Boozer I believe, was a "Hey we have to do something here" move. Gasol has been more than anyone of us could have hoped for. Dunleavy, Bellinelli, Robinson, Augustin, Brooks, Korver and if you remember he wanted Reddick which some in the media scoffed at. Now look at J.J. out in LA. Pretty good.

Also, doesn't he have to get credit for hiring Thibs?

Agree.
Paxson has been a good GM. Does anyone remember where the Bulls were at the time he took over? Yes it is easy to say he lucked into Rose but his moves allowed the Bulls to be competitive without Rose. Even Boozer was not a bad move. He was very good that first yr. Boozer was not a bust contrary to popular belief and the only two questionable moves were Thomas and Wallace. Those two standout but overall he has done a good job. Their franchise has been to the playoffs three straight yes despite being without the league MVP. Thibs gets a lot of the credit but Paxson deserves some credit also.
