But for real. I have different goals than many of you. I’ve seen 6 Bulls titles in my life and remember three of them very clearly. I want another one badly but my main hope for the Bulls is to compete again ASAP. I don’t despise NBA Hell like many of you (and I’d still argue Bulls fans don’t know what that is. It’s the current Pistons. It’s not winning 60+ games and losing to LeBron in the playoffs.)

I think Wendell will help us be more competitive next year. We’ll take the year after that when it comes.

Attitude. Already rumors he demanded the Bulls not match any contract and wants out on the rebuild. Doesn’t play defense and profiles as a good stats bad team guy.

I like him but I’m not dismissing those rumors and am very wary of paying him $20+ million a year. He’s going to get a contract like that this summer and I think then you’ll realize why there isn’t a lot of excitement there.

Dude...this guy is literally going to be the difference between drafting 7th and drafting 11th. I know you're wasted but they have basically added another Bobby Portis. I've seen Duke fans say they the Blue Devils were better when he was on the bench. Right now the most realistic path to more wins for the Bulls is Lauri getting better.

I’m a little drunk but not that fucked up. I won’t be walking these comments back.

Portis is a good player and was a great pick. I think Carter will be better. If he’s Portis that’s obviously a giant failure.

But let’s have some perspective. People were losing their minds over Boozer comps. If he’s Boozer this is one of the best picks in the draft hands down.

Also Lauri should and will improve a lot. You’re saying that like it’s a long shot.

I think Lauri is good but not good enough to carry them.

I think I've been pretty clear I'm not categorically in favor of a full-blown tank. I just hate the clear lack of a plan and the accompanying lack of accountability that goes along with it for this front office. One year after the Butler trade when we told this would be a full blown rebuild based on smart drafting, they've taken 2 ready to contribute guys with low ceilings and we're back to hoping and praying for free agent home runs (which this front office has never been able to deliver) a year or two down the line.

I'm glad it sounds like Friedell was pressing them on playoffs in the press conference. In most cases it would be unfair, but not for the guys who necessitated the tank and kept their jobs, screwed it up last season and kept their jobs, and are now unwilling to make any kind of real move beyond their safe building block type draft picks.

I think his potential is ridiculously high right now. It’s crazy to me that a lot of people talk about this bulls team like there isn’t much to build around currently.

I think Young was drafted around where many thought. He’s been rumored to Atlanta and Orlando for a bit now.

I don’t think anyone foresaw Porter falling to the last pick of the lottery. That’s still crazy to me.

I disagree about Markannen. I think he will be an All Star. 9f the guys picked last season it appears that they may have drafted the 3rd best after having had the 7th pick.

I don't watch much college basketball so i'm not as familiar with Carter but from what i've read on him he is a really skilled big that will also rebound and rim protect. This wasn't a reach at all. A number of mocks had him as a top 5 guy.

I think he will be better as an NBA player than either Bamba or Young. No doubt about that and he might be better than Jackson also. I'm always partial to highly skilled guys that don't need to add weight. He fits the bill. Not overly athletic but being in an NBA program and possessing the Wing Span that everyone covets will help with that.

I wanted Porter but he was my 2nd choice.

I agree GarPax screwed up the tank job. Should have gone all in from the start. dilly dallied with that and that is how they ended up with the 7th pick.

Do have to chuckle at those who thought they should have traded up after complaining about tanking all season. If they successfully tanked there would not have been a need to overpay in order to move up.

Bulls giving Donte Ingram a shot in Summer League.

How nice.

Exactly.

We don’t know what conversations were had or potential offers made but we do know Atlanta really wanted Trae Young. He was their guy. Dallas was a terrific trading partner at #5 because Young most likely would have been chosen by Orlando at #6.

Jackson, Bamba, Carter, Young, and Porter Jr. were available at #4. Porter Jr. had a sketchy back. They didn’t want Young. And they must have not thought Bamba or Jackson were significantly better than Carter. Plus, it would’ve taken something like Felicio and Asik to match Parsons’ contract. Asik’s $12 million expires after this coming season. Wouldn’t you want that extra money when you’re going after Kawhi, Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler, Nikola Jokic, or Karl Anthony Towns next summer?

Don’t be mad at the Bulls for not taking on a Chandler Parsons contract that pays him $25 million in the 2019-2020 season when they’re set up right now to offer 2 max deals next summer, even after signing LaVine in a couple weeks. You can definitely be pissed off at how they went about tanking early on last season.
