I think all of us have realized that Vinny is just not going to work. So hopefully sometime soon the Bulls will once again be looking for another coach.

Who is out there that you would like the Bulls to consider?

Avery Johnson?

To be honest, no one out there really excites me. I just hope that it is a coach that has some previous NBA head coaching experience.

Seriously?

And if so, why? And why after the debacle last time would he actually do it this time?

I know it's been said before, but Pax had the best coach for Rose. That is, until he told Pax just what he thought of the talent on the team.
I have no confidence in Pax to do the right thing, none.

What about Musselman? He has been a coach and an assistant in the NBA?

This current coach was Jerrys decision not Pax. Jerry is too fucking cheap to pay any coach worth a shit.

Yeah, I have heard that. Jurko swears that the Ben Wallace signing was all Jerry's doing, too. That was the beginning of the end for Pax. He should have resigned if Jerry was going to do something like that behind his back.

It would have to be some coach with a proven track record of success.

Uncle Jerry better come back from Glendale, AZ and the White Sox new Spring Training facility they'll soon share with the Dodgers and see how rotten his basketball team has become. In my opinion, Reinsdorf needs to be held accountable for what appears to be a disasterous hire in Vinny Del Negro as head coach. I think Uncle Jerry didn't want to spend the $$$$ because he owed the Brian Hanley-looking Scott Skiles $4 million this season. VDN seemed to come cheap by NBA standards, and I don't think he got a long-term deal when the Bulls hired him. VDN does have 2 veteran assistants with NBA head coaching experience in the Leslie Nielsen-looking Del Harris & Bernie Bickerstaff. If the experiment ends after this season, I could easily see Uncle Jerry promoting one of these two to become the team's next head coach. The other coaches we heard so much about last summer may have had more experience, but they were simply too expensive in Reinsdorf's eyes. I think Uncle Jerry has to also part company with GM John Paxson, if he doesn't want to coach this sorry team and all the players he drafted.

That's a lot more than "Da Boos" have in the past 10+ years.

Interview Thibodeau, at a minimum. And get a real fucking general manager.

Chris, they bellyflopped once the NBA Playoffs started, and the Mavericks one year had the #1 seed out West and lost to Golden State if memory serves. They also lost as a high seed the following year, and I believe New Orleans sent them home in Round 1, prompting Mark Cuban to fire Avery. Then again, I wonder if Rick Carlisle is having second thoughts about leaving ESPNEWS after his Mavs got branded bad by the Celtics on ABC today...

I went to the ISU/SIU basketball game this Saturday. They had a halftime ceremony in honor of Will Robinson. Now, a Saluki like myself has no idea who Will Robinson is other than the robot on that sci-fi show. After watching the retrospective, my eyes were quite moist. Will Robinson (much like Jackie) broke the color barrier in Division I basketball. Illinois State hired him in the early 1970s to be a head coach... he coached four years there, winning record each year, then moved on to be a scout for the Detroit Pistons (he was from Detroit.) He kept that job for nearly 30 years. At one point, they offered him the head coaching job but he declined.

The cool thing was during the early 1970s, he was coaching a superstar. Doug Collins was a leader for Illinois State in the early seventies, so much so that Illinois State named the floor after him. Many were assembled Saturday to pay respects to this man, but nobody could match the man most closely tied to Robinson's succeess than Doug Collins himself. The fact that Doug Collins took the time out of his life to come back and honor his former coach gets him a point in my book.

John Paxson should coach this team, Nas. After all, Pax is the boob who drafted these players! :x

I'm not sure if there's a chance for a substantial overhaul this summer. If so, I really do not want Paxson handling these transactions, nor Vincent del Negro coaching our new players.
