When he's not busy making up rumors (like his latest that had LeBron going to the Lakers), I do enjoy just reading through the news around the league. Way too often though, he's more interested in playing GM.

Didn't Vescey make a fool of himself at the HoF inductions?

If I wasn't clear, I was referring to Sam Smith in my comment that you quoted.

Yes, Vescey did apparently make an ass of himself, though I never actually heard his comments.

If they can't get Lebron, then I want Bosh & Joe Johnson.

Does Lebron really need more attention?

he needs more rings

I think after this year and the sluggish Shaq Attack he will be looking for a team he can run with.

If the Boools can put a nice playoff run together and show some wins with running the ball, lebron could see himself as that final key!

if LeBron wants a championship, he needs to join one of the teams that have won a championship in the last 30 seasons:

1. Lakers
2. Celtics
3. Pistons
4. Bulls
5. Rockets
6. Spurs
7. Sixers
8. Heat

that's it.

Now, take a look at franchises that have won championships with different rosters and different times over that 30 year period, there are only 3:

1. Lakers (Magic era and Kobe era)
2. Celtics (Bird era and now KG)
3. Pistons (Bad Boys era and then the team that beat Kobe and Shaq in 2004).

Among the remaining franchises that have won an NBA championship in the last 3 decades:

4. Bulls
5. Rockets
6. Spurs
7. Sixers
8. Heat

LeBron is unlikely to go to southern Texas, even tho the Rockets would likely win a championship going away with LeBron.

Sixers and Heat were both one-offs, unlikely destinations for LeBron, altho Miami could be in the running.

Celtics and Lakers are all stocked up on point forward superstars.

so that leaves the Bulls and Pistons.

Pistons definitely have the cap space and money--Joe Dumars has been planning for 2010 for a couple seasons now.
And if they send Hamilton, Prince and another player to Memphis for Gasol or to Toronto for Bosh or to the Clippers for Kaman...

LeBron will be either a Chicago Bull or Detroit Piston in 2010.

There is zero chance Lebron James plays in Detroit.

hussra, have you been paying much attention to the lebron situation? Detroit doesn't have the cap room anymore. Ditto with over half the teams you mentioned. The clippers and knicks have a good shot at him, as do the bulls and maybe the nets.

Dumars is very much in the LeBron sweepstakes.

Notice the Pistons are actively looking to move Rip and Prince for 1 yr contract guys or 3 for 1 deals like for Gasol/Kaman/Bosh, clearing cap space for the 2010 free agents.

Doesn't a 3 for 1 trade still have to be within a certain salary %?

Now, if they are able to get rid of their established veteran types for expiring contracts, I'd agree, but right now, I don't see any chance he ends up in Detroit.

Yeah, I don't see how LeBron fits into the Clippers with Griffin.

NBA franchises win championships, not the Clippers.

Yankees win the World Series, Steelers the Super Bowl, Pittsburgh the Stanley Cup, Lakers the NBA Championship.

LeBron wants to win a championship, pick a franchise that has done so and managed to repeat.

Pistons are one of 3 NBA franchises in the post-ABA merger era that have managed to repeat as NBA champions with entirely different core rosters/coaches.etc. And LeBron isn't going to the Celtics or Lakers.

I don't see LeBrong going to the Knicks at this point. Outside that, I can't say much about where I think he'll go.

Difficult to imagine LeBron signing on for 3 for 21 4th quarter and 25% from the floor in the 2nd half shooting. James needs spot-up jump shooters to pass out to when he drives into a triple-team and that's not this Bulls team without Ben Gordon.
