If it was with any other religion's holiday, heads would freakin' roll!

Looks like this is going to happen again, as my friend told me Del Negro has sold his house.

He needs to go, but why on Christmas Eve?

I've heard because there tends to be less media around to cover it for a couple of days at least. Don't know if there is any truth to that though. Dumb either way.

As long as Vinny's gone by Capodanno, I'll be happy.

its a nice gesture to let the fired coach be with his family for the holidays... my only hope is they DONT do an interim, and they find someone NOW or hopefully they already did

Dan, I think you bring up a very valid point. I remember Matt "Drinky" Abbatacola talked a great deal the day the Bulls told Scott Skiles to get lost a couple years ago. I think you are correct about media coverage, or lack thereof in situations like this. It seems cruel & heartless on Christmas Eve, but Dan, business is business.

They should be on the phone NOW talking to Jeff Van Gundy, trying to convince him to leaving the plushness of the TV booth.

Oh no I will not watch Jeff Van Gundy coach the Bulls. What, they can't get Fratello? Blurgh.

Guys, even though Jeff Van Gundy appeared to get a raw deal when he last coached the Houston Rockets, I think he's firmly entrenched where he is now with Mike Breen & Mark Jackson on ESPN/ABC Sports' NBA coverage. The guy they should be on the phone with is another ESPNer, Byron Scott, who joins the "Worldwide Leader" in January. I think Byron would accelerate Derrick Rose's development big time.

You know where I stand on interims. Bernie Bickerstaff may have NBA head coaching experience, but has a lot of losses on his resume and isn't much better than Vinny. The guy who should be coaching this team if they can't get Scott or Avery Johnson from Bristol,CT right now is the man who drafted these players, John Paxson. I don't want another Jim Boylan situation like what happened when Scott Skiles got his walking papers.
