Just saw this again. Durant will of course get a max deal. There's no chance Green does and if Rondo only got $55 million no way does Westbrook get more than $70, especially considering the amount of talented young PG's in the league right now.

agreed. rondo is a good benchmark. i think westbrook is in the same league but not there yet. i don't think he will be better than rondo...can't see him getting a max deal.

no, he's not opting out

he has a player option for like 21 mil

he's not opting out of that

Okay Charles. He would opt out of the deal if he could get a longer deal. It's the same reason Amare is opting out.

Yes, I did hear Barkely say it but once in awhile he is right. who is going to pay him more than 21 mil????

i'm waiting

maybe if this wasn't such a massive FA year I could possibly see it, but no way any team is going to offer him more than that this year. it would be a insane risk to opt out of that deal for not a very big reward.

When I say more I mean more as in total contract.

Just because Rondo's agent should be investigated for making such a dumb deal (for at worse the 3rd best PG in the East) doesn't mean Westbrook should or will be punished for their stupidity.

He will. If he starts demanding a max contract the OKC Thunder should laugh and replace him with trading for a guy like Hill or Collison and get 80% of the productivity at 20% of the price. There are too many quality young PG's for a guy like Westbrook to get a max deal. Max deal's should ideally be reserved for top 10.. maybe top 15 guys. Westbrook wont ever be one.

Also dont forget that Sam Presti doesnt seem like the type of dumb GM that gets bullied into signing a guy to max money when noone else would give more than $70-80.

I think Westbrook is better than Ben Gordon. I wouldn't take Ben Gordon or Kirk Hinrich money if I were him or his agent.

yes, i would rather have Westbrook than Gordon too

i just realized after posting that that it would be an interesting debate, Rondo vs. Westbrook. i'm not sure who i'd rather have

I'd rather have Rondo. But I'm biased because ya'll laughed at me in 2008 when I said he would be a star.

I thought it was more of the big 3 then. Now I'm starting to think he is their best player.

I've been thinking that. When it looks like he realizes it in games, they are as dangerous as any team in the league.

I think he may be afraid to step on toes. The old guys don't want to give up the wheel of the car yet. That's where Doc comes into play. Since he is one of the 5 worst coaches in the game you can forget about him fixing it.
