Oh my goodness. Have any of you guys been watching the recent Bulls games? The Knicks, Wizards, Celtics and 76ers are simply horrible. Is there a new NBA rule that no Atlantic Division team can play defense? The Bulls are known for being a jump-shooting team, but in all the games against their east coast opponents, their shooters have gotten nothing but open--and I mean WIDE open--jump shots. I'm not exaggerating. While the Knicks will occasionally contest a shot and Jamal Crawford is at least intermittently interested in guarding the perimeter, Philly, Washington and Boston "defenders" just stand around below the free throw line like they're in trances. Against Boston, I saw Nocioni and Duhon miss shots not because they were closely guarded, but because they couldn't believe how open they were and that nobody was coming to guard them. And all the offense is one-on-one street ball stuff that puts little pressure on opposing defenses. Of the Bulls recent Atlantic Division opponents, it looks like the Knicks are the best coached team of the bunch. And that's not intended to be a compliment to Isiaiah Thomas.

I have noticed, I think I heard a stat last night that the bulls next 15 opponents are under .500 until they play the Lakers. Not sure I believe this but that is what they said.

Fortunately, the NBA has revised the seeding rule so that whoever wins that weak ass Atlantic Division (or the Northwest from last year) will not be guaranteed a 3 seed. Theoretically, if Orlando comes back down to Earth, the Bulls could finish 3rd in the Central and still be the 3 seed in the East.

Didn't the Mavericks get screwed on that seeding rule last year? Is that why they changed it? Regardless, that is good to know.

Not sure that is entirely accurate. I think that the three division winners and the #1 wild card team get the top 4 seeds. Those 4 teams are seeded based on their record. So, if the bulls finish 3rd in their division, the best they can hope for is a 5 seed. Can anybody verify this?

I just double checked this on nba.com. Unfortunately, they haven’t revamped this as much as I thought. All the new ruling does is protect the 2nd best team in the conference, should they happen to come from the same division as the best team in the conference. It’s broken into top 4 and bottom 4, and if you win your division, you’re guaranteed a spot in the top 4. So yes, apparently it’s still lame.
