I'm starting to look over the schedule to plan a game at the UC for us board folks to attend. It would probably be somewhere in 2013 because I know that everyone's busy as we get close to the holidays. Who here would be interested in doing this again? We had about 20 last year, so hopefully we can get a good group of people on board again.

What days of the week would work best for people? I guess I would prefer Saturday's, but we could probably score some cheaper tickets if I pulled the trigger on a weekday game. If we choose a Saturday game, I will keep it out of the month of January so we wouldn't have the chance of overlapping with any Bears playoff game.

Here are some ideas for games I picked out. Keep in mind, the better the opponent, the more money a large block of tickets is going to cost us.
Saturday 3/23 Vs. Pacers
Saturday 3/2 Vs. Nets (Yes, I know this would be the Nets for the third year in a row   )
Sunday 3/31 Vs. Detroit (This is a 6:00 game, so it wouldn't end too late for people working the next day)
Monday 3/18 Vs. Nuggets
Thursday 3/21 Vs. Blazers
Tuesday 2/26 Vs. Cavs

I like 3/23 @ Pacers.

Yeah that seems like the most ideal one of the ones he listed.

That's probably my favorite choice on the list.

Saturday's would be best for me, but Im not opposed to going to a weekday game if that is what people would want to do instead. I work in the loop so I can be at the UC in just a few minutes after work.

The gays?

Any Friday nite games? No stupid hockey to worry about this year
Interested for sure. If the dates are free, we will likely be in. Any idea what the ticket prices might be?

It's hard to say right now, but probably cheaper than last season (Last season was $50). Prices are definitely down this year, but large blocks of tickets are always priced higher. At the maximum, I would say $50 again.

A weekday game is going to be cheaper than a Saturday, and a shittier opponent will be cheaper than a better opponent. We've seen the Nets two years in a row, but that could actually be a good game this year, especially if Rose is back by then, so that might be priced out of the range I was looking for. I'm liking the Pacers option the best so far for price and quality of game.

Also, we don't need to all sit together, I can buy 2 or 3 medium sized blocks of tickets in the same general area. That way the group would be somewhat close together, but we could maybe save a little money also. Once I get a better idea of how many people are looking at going, I can put some prices and ideas together.

Now that the Nets are from Brooklyn and not New Jersey they have lost some of the luster of being a terrible basketball matchup. I vote for Cleveland.

If we see them play the Nets this year, it can't possibly be worse than last year, right?

Could be. The Nets are going to be much better this season, and it's questionable at this point whether Rose will be back on the court by 3/2. I would definitely be down for this game though since I want to see the Nets this year, and there's a number of board members already with Nets gear.

How did you know about my Benoit Benjamin jersey....

I think I'm leaning towards the Nets game now. KD is a veteran and superstar of these outings, and I don't think we can hold one without him. Can you make the 3/2 game, KD?

Should I assume that a weekday game is out? I haven't heard anyone jumping on that bandwagon so far.

That would leave us with:
3/2 Vs. Nets
or
3/23 Vs. Pacers

I'm not hearing any other suggestions, so I'm going to make the call and have the game be Saturday 3/23 vs. Pacers unless there are any objections.

Here's who has expressed interest so far, so everyone else please respond on whether you are in. I'd like to get a rough count so I can start hunting for the best ticket options out there. I'll update this list as others respond.

Yeah, 8 won't be a problem. We had about 20 last year, so I think the number will go up a bit. I'm thinking some people just haven't seen the thread yet.

Keep those responses coming. We had a few others join up. I'll send some PM's out to some of the usual attendees as well probably next week.

So i'm trying to find the best possible way to set this whole thing up ticket-wise. I want to stay away from the group ticket package from the Bulls since they are charging a minimum of $60 for this game. I'm trying to find multiple blocks of tickets so we can all sit somewhat in the same area. Does anyone have any problems with half of us sitting in one part of the stadium and half of us sitting in another part of the stadium? I'd like to be able to get us all together in the same area, but if the right deal comes around in a further section away, I want to know if I should take it. I know we'll all be hanging out before the game, and probably after, so breaking us into two groups for the game shouldn't be a deal breaker, right?
