Man, one could make the case that Jimmy Butler is the most fun athlete to watch in Chicago. This guy is unbelievable! The guy gives you max effort on offense and defense all while playing the most minutes in the league. I love watching him defend an opponents fast break.

The Bull were headed for disaster there in the second quarter. In comes the one man army known as Jimmy Buckets to right the ship. The guy singlehandedly brought the team back. We're witnessing something special with Butler. It's a pleasure to watch him play. Has to be Paxson's best draft pick by far. And considering where he was taken relative to other sports draft setups, I'd argue he's the best pick a Chicago team has made in a long while.

And please don't take this as a slight on Kane or Toews who I love and think are great. Same with Rose, Noah and Bryant. All high draft picks with expectations. Butler's projection was what, a defensive role-player? Nobody saw this coming except maybe Jimmy himself.

I'll buy that. It's great when non-lottery picks make it in the NBA. And we all know Butler really worked his ass off to get to this point.

Was Luol Deng a natural Bulls pick or someone else's pick conveyed to the Bulls? Because we got a lot of mileage out of him, even if he wasn't a low pick like Butler.

Rose shot them back into the game, but his effort on the last two possessions was embarrassing. Turning the ball over AGAIN is bad enough, but then you fall asleep on an inbound pass to lose the game. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

I'm still confident we close this series out, but this sloppiness has got to stop. If and when we play Cleveland, I think Rose is going to have to outplay Irving for us to win. Gasol struggles with bigger guys so he'll have a tough time with Mozgaf and it would be asking too much to expect Butler to carry you offensively if he's guarding Lebron. You've got you're wildcards in J.R. Smith and Mirotic (who should not have been out there tonight) who can shoot you into or out of a game, so it'll be up to Rose. We're going to need a better effort defensively from our PG.

I blame Thibs in the last 20 seconds. You did not have your best offensive players on the court in the last possesion and left Rose in a bad spot. He should have had Noah 5 feet back blocking a clear view to the basket on a pass in.

I'm not sure if they had one, but I saw Mirotic calling for a t/o and Thibs waving it off. If they had one, they should have used it. I have no problem with Rose taking that shot because he was the hot hand, but you're right jimmy, you need a better play call than that. Again, in fairness to Thibs, I don't know if they had a t/o left so that would explain having to go with that defensive five out there.

This one is on Rose. You can't get caught backdoor like that. Ball -you- man. Simple basketball principle
