Josh Smith came straight out of High School. This suggests that he was light years ahead at the same stage. Saying he is better now isn't saying much. When both careers are over Josh Smith will be considered the better player. Using this logic Taj is also better than Melo too.

Taj and melo isn't analogous to Taj vs Smith for reasons everyone already discussed about Smith and Taj.

Kwame Brown came out of high school too. Does that also suggest he was light years ahead of Michael Jordan at the same stage?

Portis is better than Tyrus. I was wrong. And if the Bulls lose him this offseason, their losing one of their highest potential players, next to Markannen.
