So what is Coby White's ceiling? What's his comp? What kind of player will he be in 3 years?

The Bulls offseason went from hoping for Zion or at least a top three to Colby White is so adorable.

The more video and history I read on this guy the more I like. Dude's a flat out scorer. Looks like a good attitude guy with the tools to be a capable defender. I'm not sure what there isn't to like.

You need a top 5 player to compete in this league. I don't see anyone on the roster with that potential. Maybe he's a nice player. The team seems destined to top out at around a 4 seed.

Lauri has that potential. I don't think anyone really knows what White's ceiling is either.

This team reminds me of the Deng-Hinrich-Gordon Bulls. A lot of good hard working mid-lottery picks from great college programs. Never won anything. Made it out of the first round once.

I just want to watch a team that doesn't get laughed off the court. I'm a man of simple desires.

this ain't no pawn shop...LaVine needs the ball Markkanen needs the ball and White needs the ball and you expect Dunn do distribute it evenly between these 3?

This will be Dunn's last year with the team, so who cares about him.

The simple solution is to run. Eveyone on the team is better in transition except for the unmotivated brother of Brook Lopez.

I expect Dunn to be out of the league shortly.

I've seen projections identifying White as a "solid starter" or "very good" sixth man. Not exactly inspiring, if accurate.

Pretty much. Seems like he is ideally a 6th man and can't defend according to some.

Kawhi Leonard had many similar projections. White will be a superstar

I saw a spot on him last week. I remember thinking Wow! Why can't we get a kid like that? Reading this thread reminded me of the bouncing hair. Lots to like about him except his first name.

I like him as a scoring point, not sure I like his fit with the current roster.

Just wishful thinking or honest evaluation?

Both. I do honestly believe that nobody has any idea what his ceiling is. I don't put any currency in anyone capping his ceiling out as a solid starter. Given his combination of size, speed, and shooting touch, his ceiling is very high. Who knows if he'll get there, but there's zero reason anyone should be upset with the pick.

I said that to my son last night. Lots of pieces but no top 10 player.

It's not about being upset with the pick. It's disappointment in not getting one of the franchise guys. And after tanking for years only getting to draft 7.

For every Kawhi, there are 30 guys like Denzel Valentine. The Bulls need elite stars out of the draft since they can't get top free agents.

That's why I said the off season started with hoping for Zion. I think the 2 or 3 picks would have also been a reason for greater optimism.

I wouldn't be more optimistic if we had RJ Barrett over White. I could see being more optimistic about Morant but White has an equally high ceiling.
