Well played Nardi

It's a tough call on this one. From a purely basketball standpoint Gobert makes a helluva lot of sense because what the Bulls need he gives you in spades. From a financial standpoint it doesn't. With he and Lavine, they'd be paying 2 guys max money that aren't max players. Both on the Books for another 4 at least with Gobert turning 30 in a couple of weeks.
I'd probably lean towards doing it because I really know what else would be available. Definitely a "win now" kind of move.
If it's Vooch, Coby, and Javonte Green as has been rumored then they should pull the trigger.
If Utah is holding out for Patrick Williams then no don't do it.

How sure are you that Patrick Williams is going to be the player that most of us believe that he can be?

About 90%-95%. Just needs more touches. That's one of the reasons I don't mind moving Vooch. One or 2 of the "big 3" has to step back in order for this kid to flourish.

As we approach the draft it seems the following things are likely

Lavine is going to sign for a big deal.

Coby White is going to be traded along with the first round pick this year. Maybe for Gobert?

Williams is not going anywhere.

As much as I don't want Lavine's contract, I don't know Golbert's is better. He does fill a need, though.

Gobert answers a ton of questions for this team. If they can launch Vuc in the process, all the better.

That said, unless Utah is dumb, I don’t know how the Bulls get him without giving up somebody of value.

I'd much rather trade for Ayton. Both Vucevic and Williams can pack their bags for Phoenix. Give them the 1st Round pick too. Ayton can defend the paint and he can score points. Scoring points in basketball is good.

It's a salary dump for a draft pick

Phoenix likes Lavine. I think you can get Ayton in a sign and trade if Utah doesn't dump Gobert.

You still have to make the math work, no? How do you match Gobert’s deal without including somebody who doesn’t suck?

Vuc, White, trade exception, and a 1st round pick.

Ayton is going to be shooting 3s next season. Whenever Gobert catches the basketball, everything stops.

I'd rather trade Vucevic, Williams, and the 1st. I'm not in love with LaVine, but he'd be important on the court along with Ball, DeRozan, and Ayton.

I'm reluctant to give up Williams. I love Ayton, but I have some questions about his desire.

I like Ayton but that's too much for him. Patrick Williams will be a better player than Ayton by the start of the 23 season.

I'm assuming you guys would give up on Patrick Williams for Durant? If Kyrie were to leave, why would KD stay.

Probably. I would still be fearful of P-Will turning into a version of Kawhi that doesn't take 1/3 of the season off to rest.

Kyrie has proven he doesn't have a commitment gene. If him and his mom were on a boat adrift, he'd toss her overboard.

I would have no use for Kyrie if you gave him to me for free. Other than himself, he loves nothing more than taking time off from work.

No one in the NBA would make that trade.

This is a tough sell considering you were a huge fan of Coby White just last year CB
