Yeah, blow it up so we can be atrocious again for another six years. Why is it when things aren't going our favorite teams' way the quick solution is to "BLOW IT ALL UP". I've always liked your posts Bulldog, but retarded logic. The East sucks. This team sucks too, but trust me it won't take alot to get this team into the playoffs. I think Paxson's got something up his sleeve; he realizes he's fumbled the ball repeatedly up to this point, but I think something's in the works. Blowing it all up accomplishes nothing, only some tweaks need to be made either throughout the season or in the offseason. I'd rather have this team, then clear them all out and start over with a bunch of nobodies.
Perhaps I was a little too cavalier with my use of the phrase "Blow it up". I don't suggest that they should trade off every asset, but they do need to make a major move if they ever want to be a title contender, even if it means trading 2 or 3 members of the "core". I think that they have enough "assets" where they can make major moves and contend in the near future, not be "atrocious for another 6 years" like you said. My post yesterday was more one of frustration.
The main issue remains that Paxson seems to over value his own guys, so he's less willing to make a deal. Plus, he has less to work with this year in the way of contracts than he did last year to swing a big deal.
Who knows, maybe a new coach will light a fire under these guys and they'll turn it around. As comprised, though, I still don't see them winning a championship or even the East, and I thought that is what it's all about.
