2 first round picks to Denver, sounds familiar. I am sure it would be too high of a price to pay.

See ya Noah. I think he is a really good player but I'm getting concerned about his ability to stay healthy.

There are not many players I would be willing to part with Noah for, but Melo is definitely one of them. If it costs Noah then you still pull the trigger on this deal.

That is something that I've thought about, as well. What good is depth if he's not consistently available to play? It's just that think that he's such a huge part of our "core," and that he's one of the guys that actually plays defense. It could potentially disrupt team chemistry and adversely affect our style of play. I dunno, if it comes down to it, this is such a great opportunity to obtain a marquee player, so we shouldn't screw up our chances. I just hope that GarPax explores all options, as I really feel that we could have the upper hand here.

Me too. He may have also had a Tyson Chandler type season too. Chandler had a great season with NO and hasn't been able to stay healthy since because of foot problems. While the Bulls would have a hole there it would be worth it to have arguably the best pure scorer and the best clutch player in the game on your team. Obviously if you could get him without giving up Noah then you make that move. The Bulls still have some cap space left and could even take back a bad contract like Chris Andersen's.

Deng
Taj Gibson
James Johnson
Both of their 1st round picks for next season
$8M trade exception

for
Melo
Chris Andersen

Don't fall in love with your core. The Bulls did that a few years ago and missed out on Kobe and KG.

At first the offer of Deng and Noah sounded even a bit low, but after looking at the Knick roster, I don't know what kind of bid they would be able to muster. If Denver would accept this deal I would do it in a second.

Noah has improved a lot and is a great effort guy, but he is still an injury-prone undersized 5 that may be looking at Chandler money down the road. I'm not sure you don't sell high, I don't see his stock getting any higher than it is now.

I rarely see Anthony play. My initial response to this trade is I love the offense, but am not sure the guy has an interest in playing defense. That could pose a problem down the line with a new coach and team philosophy that believe a key to success is defense. Noah would have to go to get Anthony. Not sure we would have enough defensive players to make up for Noah's loss for a high scorer.

For those that have seen more Nuggets games than me, is my concern about Carmelo's defense valid?

I would certainly miss Noah. Great entertainment, and I always have a thing for hustle.

Without the foot problem that will likely be an issue for the rest of his career/life, see ya. With the foot issue in mind, I will rent the plane myself. Later homeboy.

I would be interested in a cheap and high quality birdman bulls jersey if the situation presents itself.

That was the issue when he came into the league but over the last couple of years he has made an effort to play defense and become a complete player. He is a winner and would allow Rose to be himself.

Then I am all for it. Noah, as described in another thread, is not and will not ever be a player of Carmelo's statue  . That being said, we still need some guys rebounding and playing defense. If Melo is serviceable or better at his position, we may be able to get away with another second tier big man.

Melo has never been out of the first round of the playoffs. He's got skills, but calling him a winner might be a tad much.

You're right, he did make it out of the first round once out of seven total trips to the playoffs. My bad.

Please, you know I hate Noah. Nothing's changed. Never liked Deng either, despite he being of Duke.

This trade needs to happen. Id rather have Melo for a full season avging close to 30 than Joakim grabbing ten boards and missing a third of the season with foot problems. Please GarPax. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The Bulls are viewed by one source as "not a realistic candidate" due to the team's unwillingness at this point to include Joakim Noah in the deal. The Bulls and Noah are currently negotiating an extension."

If this report is true, I would consider the Bulls to be dead in the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.

Quote:
Several league sources on Monday told ESPN.com that they believe the Nets have emerged as the front-runner to secure Anthony. Not only is Anthony willing to sign a contract extension with the Nets, sources say the club is willing to make an intriguing offer of Derrick Favors (the No. 3 pick in this year's draft), the expiring contracts of Troy Murphy and Kris Humphries, and at least one future first-round pick to Denver to land Anthony.

A source close to the Nets told ESPN.com that he wasn't ready to concede that the Nets were the front-runners for Anthony's services, nor was the source willing to confirm what the Nets would offer. However, the source did acknowledge that New Jersey was in serious consideration based on the Nuggets' reluctance to trade Anthony to a Western Conference team and the Nets' combination of expiring contracts, draft picks and a young player with serious upside.
