Rip wasn't a bad signing. He was just hurt, like most Bulls this season. Hinrich was a bad signing. You probably shouldn't be disparaging Pax's credentials if you honestly don't know if he hired Cartwright. But thanks for repeating the same thing I did about NBA hell. The Bulls aren't there. They had a great chance at a championship this past season, theres never been a team in history(except possibly Russell's Celtics) that could win a title without their best player. Bad luck happens. I'm glad my GMs are not as reactionary as their fans.

That is exactly why Rip was a dumb signing..he was old and washed up..injuries and poor play were almost a certainty.Hinrich is old too, slow and a hack who is going to be in foul trouble often if he plays 32 plus minutes a night..he is not a good enough shooter to be a 2..and he is not a good enough ball handler to be a point..Dumb signing

Rip didn't have a history of injuries. His last two seasons in Detroit he fought with his coach and was benched. Since he never had a problem before that, or since coming here, I don't think that's on him. The more you know...

There are worse guards in the NBA than Kirk Hinrich. I guess I can live with the move.

Also, Paxon is a below-average GM.

You paste a link to a "sore right groin" as proof he's injury-prone? That coulda just been a good Saturday night. I'm done with this thread now. You guys are ridonculous.

And that 2nd link you posted doesn't even work Q. But stop trying to Google your way through this. If Rip was so injury prone the past three years what were his injuries? Shouldn't need Google if they are so obvious.

So that is games missed with injuries in 2011, 2010, and 2009 seasons.

Wait - here's 2008:

Are you just an NBA mouth-breather, FavreFan?

What is an NBA mouth-breather?

You're pasting links of sore groins and sprained ankles from 3 years ago as proof of why Rip was too injury prone this past winter to sign him. And you expect me not to treat you like you're a dumbass?

And I don't need to look at his games played. I already explained why they were so low. Unlike you and 312player I don't need box scores and google to have an opinion on sports.

Over half the games he missed the past two seasons were because of his coach, not his injuries.

But this started because you and 312player thought the Bulls had no chance to win the NBA title last season before Derrick got hurt. That's about as dumb an opinion as there can be, and that's why it's pointless to keep engaging you guys in NBA talk. I'll be back when I see someone reasonable bumping this.

Hamilton isn't really injury prone, historically. He's had a few bumps and bruises (and that whole mask thing), but nothing too extreme.

I wouldn't mind dumping Hamilton by the end of the year. I think it was a little sad that the Bulls had to dump Hinrich to free up cap space, especially knowing that LeBron and the other two screwed all the teams that were trying to pick up LeBron. Hinrich was not a superstar, but he was a team player and a solid defender. He may only have a couple good years left, but if he gives you one or two good seasons this is a great move. I think it would be awesome to snap up Nocioni too.

If Rose stayed healthy? Sure they did.

Peeps I have to disagree. Watching the finals I thought there was no way the Bulls would have won. But what do I know.

Probably not that Miami team.

But you don't think they could've beaten the Miami team that struggled with Boston in the ECF? I do.

He was my favorite player. The year they made the lottery under Skiles, Paxson said Nocioni was the only player he was proud of. Plus he's got an Olympic Gold Medal.

I might agree with you on that. But the heat team in the finals? I'd have to say no. The window is closed.

No offense man but thats just a stupid thing to say. Boston had them down 3-2. The Heat were very beatable this season. The Thunder looked much more invincible, til the Heat got done with them. There's no unbeatable team in the NBA a la the 2001 Lakers. To think otherwise is, in its truest form, ignorant.

C'mon Matt. Youre one of the brighter posters here. You should know its idiotic to say the window is closed when every key guy on the roster is under 30. I feel pretty confident in saying that every single person who now says the Bulls are in NBA Hell and the window is shut was equally sure that Dallas had no chance last year. The Bulls have a legit superstar. They have a great coach. They have a lot of the other pieces in place. It doesnt make any rational sense in my mind to think they have no shot at a title.

I would not say the bulls had no chance at beating Miami, but the heat were a better team and Lebron would shut Rose down in the 4th..the bulls had a small chance and even less of a chance at beating OKC.... @ Farvefan..who do you think you are with the condescending bullshit you dish out in nba discussions? you are just a clown who watches a lot of games and spends a lot of time on the computer..your thoughts are no better than anyone else. You did not even know that Blair was not a starter on your own team, and mocked me when I pointed it out to you. And you were wrong again in thinking Blair was better than Taj..and now Blair will get shopped because he is just a guy, nothing special.

DeJuan Blair Believes the San Antonio Spurs Will Trade Him

DeJuan Blair found himself looking sad inside of Gregg Popovich’s doghouse throughout the postseason, and he believes that his time in San Antonio is nearing its end. Per the Express-News: “In the playoffs, the wide-bodied Spurs center-forward found himself on the bench. He played in only 10 of San Antonio’s 14 playoff games. He did not start a single game. His total playing time in the playoffs: 76 minutes. Blair views that as a message, and a strong one: It seems the Spurs doubt him. And because of that, he has his doubts that he will play a fourth season in silver and black. A member of the select team that is helping the U.S. Olympic team prepare for London, a trimmed-down Blair is showcasing his talent in front of NBA coaches, general managers and scouts on hand at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center practice court to watch spirited scrimmage sessions. ‘I’m trying to get down to 260 (pounds), and it’s working,’ Blair said. ‘I’ll be great by September. I know I’m on the trading block, so we’ll see what happens.’ Blair makes no attempt to hide his feelings when he discusses his diminished role in the playoffs, including his belief he might be better off elsewhere. ‘I love the Spurs, but they’ve got a lot of bigs, and they’re bringing somebody else from overseas, so where am I going to fall at?’ he said. ‘I was out of the rotation at the end of the season, so imagine next year. That’s something I really don’t want to go through again, because it tore me down.’ The European player Blair believes the Spurs want to add for next season is 6-foot-11 Slovenian center Erazem Lorbeck, 28, who plays in the Spanish ACB League and whose rights the Spurs obtained as part of the 2011 draft-night deal that sent Blair’s pal, George Hill, to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for the draft rights to Kawhi Leonard. Blair also presumes the Spurs want to re-sign Boris Diaw, the 6-foot-9 center-forward from France who signed a free-agent contract with the Spurs in late March and ended up with the starting center spot he once manned. Blair doesn’t question Spurs coach Gregg Popovich’s decision making, as difficult as it was for him to accept a reduced role. [...] Blair turned 23 as the post-lockout season concluded in late April. What has happened since requires maturity. ‘The Spurs are excellent,’ he said. ‘They used me to get everybody going and just get to the playoffs. That’s what it’s seemed like the last two seasons. But it’s a business, and everybody has their role, and I played mine, obviously, in the season. That’s proved right now. We were No. 1 the last two seasons when I was starting, and then lost in the playoffs when I wasn’t. That’s just, well, I don’t know, common sense. But I’ll be all right.’”

And I should add the window is open because Rose should come back 100% healthy by the playoffs or a little after..the East is weak..other than Miami there is nobody that beat the bulls for the next few years, and Wade is getting old and is injury prone.

1.) I'm sure I come off as condescending, but it's not intentional. I just have a low threshold for putting up with bullshit from dumbasses. That's probably why I don't treat you with much respect 312player. It has nothing to do with me thinking I'm an NBA expert. You say a bunch of really stupid shit, so I call you out on it. Same with others of your ilk. Someone like Brick probably doesn't watch as much NBA as I do but I try not to be condescending with him because he's not a dumbass and knows what he's talking about generally. You don't.

2.) The Spurs are not my team. The Bulls are. And stop lying Elmhurst 312player. Here's what happened when we discussed DeJuan Blair starting.
You: DeJuan Blair will never be a starter in the NBA
Me: Dejuan Blair has played 227 NBA games. He started 150 of them.
You:

You actually typed the embarrassed face because you knew you got caught spouting off dumb shit. Apparently you forgot to check Google before posting. Like JORR said, the CSFMB is a dangerous place for guys who are full of shit.

4.) DeJuan Blair is just a guy. So is Taj. Taj is slightly better but not significantly so. I can tell by your posts you don't even have a clue how Blair plays. You just look at box scores. Blair isn't as good as I thought he'd be but he's doing a hell of a lot better already than most 2nd round picks and he's much better than James Johnson, which was the original reason I ever brought his name up here in the first place.

I'm embarrassed that I was sipping the Blair Kool-Aid his rookie year. I thought Barkley was his ceiling. Not quite.

Blair is exactly who I thought he would be..a tweener..good bench player..Taj is going to start and be very productive for a team for the next ten years...Taj>Blair..watched Blair in college and in the pros..Taj is a much better player...In my opinion Blair is not a starter on a decent team and now POp agrees...I win you lose

I never thought he'd be quite that good but I'm borderline shocked that he regressed his 2nd season after that impressive rookie year. Supposedly had issues in Russia too or wherever he went to play during the lockout.

Good to see you back Kid.

He stands behind stats when it is convenient, yet altogether discards and discounts them at other times?. . . Hmmmmm. . .

. . . Not really Debate Team Material right there, Farvegnugen.

Not really. I laugh at anyone who solely uses stats just like I'd laugh at anyone for thoroughly dismissing them. It's like when DB pointed out that non-NBA guys are looking silly when they say "Asik only averaged 3/5, he's a bum!"

Asik is closer to a bum then a star...if Pax matches that deal it would be yet another dumb deal where he over pays a guy.

Agreed, which is why I am hopeful GarPax won't match.

Although now I have to go buy a Harry Potter Bulls jersey again.
