So should the Bulls deal this pick if the Bobcats somehow flirt with .500 near the trading deadline in 2014 or 2015? The possibility of the pick being unlocked in 2016 is what makes it so attractive, right? So if that possibility is threatened by even mediocre Bobcats performance (not entirely unlikely with good coaching, luck, etc.), do you make the deal while the possibility of an unlocked pick still exists?
So I'm trying to distract myself from the Rose injury by looking toward the future. It's early, but the Bobcats are 6-7, they haven't had Jefferson all year basically, and the east sucks. Is it possible now that the future Charlotte pick won't be as valuable as we all hoped and thought it would?
They won 21 games last year, and already have six now after 13 games despite not having their top player healthy all year.
EDIT: I realize the Bulls won't get the pick after this year, but I think any kind of improvement in Charlotte sucks since I assume they'll build on it.
