If you believe they’re honest in their retelling of that offseason then sure, absolutely.

Bulls didn’t have space for 3 max deals, none of the players were tied to the Bulls and Chicago isn’t Miami. It was never going to happen.

Rose was 100% correct in not begging Bron to do something he was never going to do.

Interesting way to put it.

Made every team that he'd ever played on much better from High School up through the NBA.

He got bashed for not openly recruiting other players to come and played with him while with the Bulls. Now it is something that he would be respected for with all of the shenanigans surrounding engineered rosters which currently occurs today.

Bit of revisionist history there on recruitment. LeBron showed up for the Bulls pitch and Rose didn't. "He can call me". As I've said before...immaturity.

Rose never recruited Lebron.

No one said he had to.

Bernsie did and I believe so did Goff. And now Jorr

All he had to do was show up and shake a hand for chrissake. It's common sense, not recruiting. What he instead did was imply "fuck you" whether he meant to or not. It really is beside the point whether Lebron was serious.

I assume you have social skills?

Do you? Should he have shown up in a Benny The Bull Uniforn and met him at the airport in order to show him his appreciation too?

No matter how you try and spin it, it's not Derrick Rose's job to kiss Lebron James's ass and beg him to play here. Thats Management's job.

You don't know your history. Simeon won back to back in 06 and 07.

The game you're referencing occurred during his junior year.

He scored 2 points in the State Championship Game during his senior year

So what? I didn't. I specifically mentioned Derrick Rose scoring 2 points in a State Final game. You chimed in with Richwoods and said it never happened. Clearly it did happen. There is nothing to discuss. You got it wrong.

Odd that in Rose's trial the jurors posed for pictures with him after they found him not guilty.

Happy to see it. But I do agree with him that guys like Gilmore, Van Lier, and Walker are deserving too.

Has the Bernstein Bluesky experiment ended because he realized no one was following him there?

It's funny how all of the "I'm going to Bluesky" people have slowly moved back to Twitter because Bluesky is just a weird echo chamber.

bernstein is a dope. Ed Walsh is more deserving of a statue than Paul Konerko, but 3/4 of current fans don't even know who Walsh is. Same thing with Chet Walker. Number retirements and statues are fan service. "Deserves" got nothing to do with it.

I was at that game against Richwoods in Peoria. I'm pretty sure he scored a few points, but the whole team only had 31, I think. And that was with OT.

Anyway, it was the most amazing thing to see. Rose didn't do anything flashy and he certainly didn't fill up the box score, but he completely controlled the entire game. It was like the other nine guys on the floor were always exactly where he put them. Just an astounding display of basketball IQ.

I was at that game, too. It was amazing to watch a player dominate the game while only scoring two points. As we were leaving the Civic Center a couple idiots behind us were saying "I don't know what the big deal is about Rose, he only scored two points".

After the game my buddy and I were having a drink in the Peoria Marquette where the teams used to stay. The Simeon team walked in and I joked to my friend we should get his autograph. He said "I have a pen". I still have my ticket from that game autographed by Rose.

That's actually a travel. You still could see the athleticism however.

Ironically people in the comment section are commenting about Lebron traveling if he attempts something similar but what they don't mention is that there is a move that has become patented by NBA players which is a travel each and every time.

Those slide step/step back 3's which are all of the rage in the NBA?these days are traveling violations. Harden started it years ago and my guy Tatum does it at least 5 times per game and refs never call it.

You cannot move your pivot foot after picking your dribble up. They all use this particular move and I never see it called as a traveling violation.

There's a travel or carry on every trip down the floor in today's basketball.

Basketball was a young game. It's why it's evolved so much since then. Had it began 25 years earlier, then maybe Bill Russell would be a 6'9" PF who shot a good percentage and have natural and not mechanical basketball moves.

I'm sorry 1960 skill leveled players would get their asses handed to them today. It's not their fault. It's not so with baseball. Because it's an older sport. Mickey Mantle would still be Mickey Mantle in 2024.

Humans did not "evolve" in 2 or 3 generations.

How many hours did Bill Russell put into basketball compared to Derrick Rose? What kind of sophistication of coaching and training was there in 1960. The GAME evolved. The player today has 'enhancements'.

While I will grant you that is better than in the 60's it's not a better game than it was in the 80's. You have point guards today who can't be bothered with learning how to pass and dribble. Centers that cannot perform a simple drop step nor learn to play with their back to the basket. And the shot selection is horrendous

No. They just became full time from age 3.
