We would not be in this position had we traded for Carmelo Anthony.

Unquantifiable, but I do think you're right. The Bulls would probably be in the 65 win range with Carmelo.

Really?

The Bulls have only lost 4 times in the month and a half since Carmelo Anthony was traded.

How would you find those extra 3 wins? 85 game season?

Did not know Carmelo was traded to the Bulls at the same time he was traded to NY in your alternate basketball dimension.

Tell me, do you think Carmelo would have been able to replace the total production Deng, Noah, and Gibson give you over the course of a season?

Because the Knicks have done SO WELL since they made the deal.

Yes. I believe Carmelo could score 36 points and grab 22 rebounds a night.... Easy.

Ok... Lemme jump back to a reality-based argument. I'd have no problem shipping out Deng and Gibson in a heartbeat if it meant getting Melo... If I'm giving up Noah as well, I'd have to get a vet bench big, or a high 1st round pick in return.

I'd maybe hesitate for a second on including Noah, then I'd WAKE THE FUCK UP and realize Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and the most efficient scorer in the league (Who can also grab 8-10 rebounds a night if need be) in Carmelo Anthony are on my home town team. #Win

Someone who has a superior talent to put the ball in the hole at 6'8" tall (24.9 career ppg) is SOOOOO much harder to find than a young big guy who can be taught defensive footwork.

Rose's development would have been hampered by Carmelo. Rose is a scoring PG, he isn't a 15apg guy.

OMG How do we know he's not both? So what he averages 22ppg and 13apg? Who would complain about that? Thibs wouldn't.

No, you're right about that.

Thibs would be too busy complaining about Carmelo's defense.

What else you got? I've had my back up against cliffs rising miles into the air, with nothing but my wit as a shield against men as mighty as BRick, RPB, Darkside, and JORR in verbal battles worthy of 800 page epic novels. You're more like the villain of a color by numbers book.

It really doesn't mean anything if you are arguing a complete hypothetical. How does anyone know how good the team would be with Carmelo? I don't. Thibs is the best defensive coach in the game, and you don't think he'd get Melo to play Defense? How many defensive minded coaches has Carmelo really played for? You can't count Jim Boeheim's 2-3 zone as much of a defensive philosophy transferable to the NBA. So that means Carmelo has never had a defensive minded coach.

You are arguing just to argue at this point. I could care less about winning a discussion. It's just annoying that every single one of your arguments has been taken apart and you still want to play games.

Do your thing.

Give yourself a pat on the back from me as well buddy.

Now I know to avoid logical reasoning when we partake in a discussion.
