The Bulls will be a better team next season when Taj is starting.

I have always thought this. Not only that but Boozer has stunted his growth.

He's a better basketball player. I don't think there is much difference in their offensive games.

I don't think I know Taj's true ceiling until he starts for a full season.

I think we've already seen Taj's potential. If his ceiling were any higher I think we would have noticed by now. That was the larger problem with the Bulls - bunch of solid guys who are not going to get any better than they already are, except Rose (pre 2012) and Butler. It was a problem because those players' best was not enough to compete with the elite teams, and they weren't going to get better collectively since most core players had maxed out their talent. Deng was the prototype there, and he was Roses right hand man. Not good enough.

I disagree. The Bulls failed in 2011 because Derrick Rose was afraid. All of those games were close. Taj still has room for growth and the Bulls have PROVEN they can compete against ANYONE. They need a star player to pull it off against great teams in the playoffs. IMO the Bulls would have won the title in 2012 had Rose been healthy and they likely beat the Heat in 2011 if they didn't have to trade Hinrich to make a run at Lebron and company.

Do you bring Augustin back next season? I think you have to. He may have played himself into a decent contract with another team.

I think a starting season would allow Taj mental room to become consisten. I think he is an 18-10 player.

I don't think he would be worse than 15 and 8 as a starter. That's great production for his salary. He'll also provide you with above average defense.

First round series are best of seven. Have been for quite a few years now.

I love that about this team and Thibs. No way in hell should this team be above .500.

He was pressing. The Bulls are a 1/2 game out of 3rd place. That's AMAZING!

Sometimes there is enjoyment and fandom outside of championships.

Back to back games with Augustin going for 27 points. Gibson had an out of character game, as did Dunleavy. Dunleavy can put up a lot of points though when he gets hot. Unfortunately the Bulls are playing the Clippers in the next game, so it could get ugly.

Maybe so. I like the Bulls chances without Boozer. The bench is thin so that will be their biggest problem.

Typically Boozer doesn't play the 4th quarter. You could tell that Gibson wasn't doing as much in the 4th quarter in terms of scoring. He was probably too tired.

Taj is what he is. We've seen his best. It aint good enough. I did see this Augestine dude the other night. Seems like a good player. Probably best PG team has had since Rose era. It would be nice to see him stick around. He likes to shoot like Nate but he seems in control unlike Nate.

Why are they trying to win games though? Its the NBA. You cant win without superstars. A 4th seed may be the worst place to be. With Derrick back and perfectly healthy, the Bulls are a distant third at best in the East. A 2nd round exit against Indy or Miami as long as Lebron is there. Paul George's dunk the other night?!?!. In a game???? SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEit. Better than Pip OKC? Dude does what he wants on the floor.

Blow it up! Give Roseyknees a new team to get hurt with in 14/15.

Noah is all you got. Trade him while he's a top center. You lose with him. Worst you can do is lose without him.

There was a bunch of wrong in Mr.B's post, but that was definitely the gem.

I'm actually enjoying watching this team. Thibs is turning chicken shit into chicken salad. If they can sustain this level, COY, no question. The people calling for him to be fired are a bunch of retards.

He's turned Augustin into an all star and he has gotten Dunleavy to play defense. Give that man a lifetime deal. Next to Phil Jackson he is the greatest Chicago coach (in any sport) that I've seen in my life.

All he needs to do now is turn Jimmy Butler into a 15 point scorer.

Yes, when he takes 20 shots a game....

They beat the Spurs decidedly in San Antonio and Noah does not like Duncan.

I get the impression that many don't. I certainly don't.

Also I don't watch a lot of Spurs, but they played shady last night. A lot of acting / trying to fool refs into making opposite calls. Many of them against Hinrich when Spurs were on offense. Refs seemed to be on top of it though. Seemed like they were aware of how the Spurs play.

Pop is just sending a message for the inevitable finals rematch.
