First quarter just ended. Bulls shot 67%. Ben Wallace played a pretty good first quarter. Hopefully this continues. A win today would give them some nice quality wins in this win streak.

Question - If the Bulls have the 2nd best reccord in the conference to the Pistons does that mean they can only get the 4 seed because they didn't win the division. Because in years past the 3 division winners get the top 3 seeds no matter the reccord.

I thought Stern changed this but I'm not sure.

Hmmm. I forgot about that Beardown. I think you're right. Either Stern changed it for this year or it was discussed to go into play for next year.

Yeah. It's a stupid system if it hasn't been changed. The winner of the east can have 10 fewer wins then the Bulls but will get the 3 seed because they won their division.

They shouldn't have went to 3 divisions a few years back. There was no point of doing that. Because it makes the above more likely. Greater chance of having a real weak division champ. It was fine when they had just two divisions in each league.

Hell they don't even need divisions. Just have the east and west and take the top 8 teams from each.

They did change the format. Division winners are assured of a top 4 seed. The three division winners and top wild card winner are seeded 1-4 based on record. Then, the final 4 wild card teams are seeded 5-8 based on their record.

I thought it was something like that. Ok. Now knowing that I voted them to get the 2 seed.

Jesus that game pissed me off. I abstain from voting. Seriously, to lose on yet another offensive rebound? Come on. Argh. That's the game they need to win.

You know PJ Brown is washed up when No-Knees Webber is grabbing an offensive rebound over him.

This is why I say Thomas needs more playing time. I don't think Weber would've beaten him for that rebound. Sure Thomas makes dumb plays, but Brown makes a lot of bad plays because, well, he's just bad. At least Thomas is improving--he made some really nice plays yesterday.

Yesterday's game also reinforced some of my doubts about Deng's ceiling. Late in the game he has the ball on the break with a chance to dunk, but instead goes for a finger roll that gets blocked by Prince. A more explosive player would've dunked that ball and gotten fouled. Deng didn't because he just doesn't have the leaping ability.

Tall Midget, I stand up and applaud you. Thomas in the closing seconds of that game, Webber ineed does NOT get that game winner. That pissed me off so much....

Also, WHAT THE HELL was Duhon doing shooting that three pointer so early in their posession. What a stupid ass decision.

Two reasons:
-He took it early enough where there was still time left on the clock to get a stop and get the ball back if he misses.
-He had a wide open look.

I didn't have a problem with the shot, but would have much rather had Hinrich or Duhon taking it.

My point was why not try to get a better shot than Duhon going full steam and throwing up a 3. I didn't like the shot. I think there was a better shot to be had. I didn't mind the early shot, just not when all of our guys are even down at our end of the floor yet and it wasn't Ben Gordon shooting. Keep it. I was pissed.

I nearly tried reaching through my TV and bitch-slapping him. When your team has Ben Gordon, and you're Chris Duhon, you better not be taking big threes down the stretch.

Let's place at least some of the blame on the ref.
Webber two hand hand shoved PJ while the shot was in the air.
It could have been easily called if PJ did a better job flopping.

I'd take it one step further and say that there was a considerable amount of home cooking throughout.

i thought the refs were awful against Det, there was a play when rip basically threw a forearm shiver into kirk and kirk was called for the foul. This morning either mully or hanley brought up the fact that kirk was getting a rep w/the refs for being a whiner and that was contributing to his foul problems. I really hope this isnt the case because he is gonna have to guard guys like gilbert, rip, and perhaps wade all guys who are seemingly getting the calls over captain kirk

Part of Hinrich's problem is that he argues sometimes even when he commits a really dumb, obvious foul. Not good for the credibility.
