Based on salary cap projections, and the fact that Butler made the All NBA team this year, in the summer of 2019 Butler will be eligible for a 5 year/$247 million contract. |

He has to make it the season before he becomes a free agent. |

Nas wrote: He has to make it the season before he becomes a free agent. Nope. Just has to make it once. The numbers might change by a few million depending on what the cap actually is but he's now eligible for the super max contract. |

Well, I guess I should've checked more than one source. It looks like he has to make one more All NBA team, either next season or the season after that, and then he will be eligible for it. If he stays healthy he'll do it. |

Don't think Boston will give him that much. |

We need to trade him before he starts commanding Kawhi/LBJ money. |

Not sure if Butler still will be 2 years from now as he's turning 30 though. |

I wouldn't be a in hurry to trade him before next summer. I'd have to see where the team is heading into the 2018-2019 season before pulling the trigger. Unless someone blows me away with an offer like the Celtics 1st pick + Brown or Bradley or Smart or something like that. |

whatever the price ends up being, not interested in a 29 year old player that has been treated like a rental car w/150k miles on it |

The correct answer is obviously you only deal him if you're getting fair value or at least something close. You don't just give away All NBA players. |

The Bulls will never compete for anything as long as they have Jimmy Butler. |

Depends on what your definition of fair market value happens to be. I've said multiple times. The 1st overall pick + a young asset like Brown/Bradley/Smart. After tonight, I would like Smart. |

They can, but I would agree they probably won't. I see him being a great player until 33 or later though. |
