Heard a national show today discussing who you would rather have going forward. Was pretty split.

Porzingis safer bet but Markkanen has a bit more ceiling I believe.

Lauri. Porzingis doesn't rebound. They should call him powerless forward.

I would say this is accurate. Pretty cool that Markk has put himself in that conversation so quickly

What are you basing this on? He is averaging 7 rebs a game for his career

That's bad, IMO(for a power forward). Of course that is before I checked that Lauri is down to around 7 RPG as well. The first month of the season, I though Lauri was close to 9 or so rebounds per game. I think Lauri will be a double double guy easily. Muscular frame.

Neither are traditional PFs that are close to basket. I think both will prob be at 8 or 9 rebs a game over next few yrs.

Dirk....an all time great averaged 7 rebs over his career

Porzingis is only averaging 6.6 rebounds per game in almost 33 minutes per game, that's awful for a front court player. He's also regressed as a rebounder every year he's been in the league. He lacks aggression and awareness when it comes to rebounding, he often times is out of rebounding position when the ball is headed towards the basket. Also, Dirk was a solid rebounder for several years. From 01-06 Dirk averaged 9.2, 9.9, 9.9, 8.7, 9.7, and 9.0 rebounds per game. Porzingis has yet to come close to those rebounding numbers. As far as Markkanen vs Porzingis goes, Markkanen looks like he'll be the superior shooter of the two and also looks more dependable as far as staying on the court, Porzingis though will probably always have a somewhat significant edge on the defensive end.
