I keep hearing Derrick Favors in rumors. This is very bad. A 6’9” slow footed, traditional PF is not something we can use.

Get picks or keep him.

You got that right. They HAVE to be curious enough to keep him on!

Agreed. I also keep hearing about how he's an expiring contract, as if that that should somehow make him more desirable. The Bulls could simply choose not to pick up the option on Mirotic in the first place and have money coming off the books just the same.

I think it's probably optimistic to expect a first rounder for Mirotic but that should be the starting point at the very least IMO.

KC Johnson, FWIW, says the Bulls are insisting on a 1st rounder.

They better get some kind of 1st rounder for him. They literally GAVE AWAY their second rounder last year, so that shows what that is worth.

That would be a dumb expectation!

Gotta be more to the story here. Maybe they promised to trade him if he acted like a good boy after the Portis thing.

yea but that would require the Bulls to find a trading partner as stupid as the Bulls.

The Bulls are not getting a first round pick for Mirotic. Nobody trades first round picks anymore (especially mid-season), unless some superstar is being shopped around.

It’s been a week now and he’s still here. I’m not against trading him for the right price but it’s nice to see they don’t plan on just giving him away to tank more.

They can get a late 1st rounder for him. That would mean he is going to a top team that thinks he can help them in the playoffs. Do you remember the type of picks the Bulls got when they were good? Do the names Mark Randall, Corie Blount or Dickey Simpkins ring a bell? In some ways late 1st rounders are almost less valuable than a 2nd rounder since they get guaranteed money and are unlikely to help a good team.

That's the way I see it.

I simply don't understand trade value in the NBA. Stars get traded for peanuts, valueless picks are hoarded and teams are happy to pay for players to play for other teams.

I can't fucking figure out what they are doing with this guy. He should be getting 30+ minutes and be the #1 scoring option.

Pelicans picking 17th and that will fall with Cousins out. We should get nice mid round pick. Hopeful it's unprotected.
