He will be waived and released if not claimed.

More cash to not sign any big names.

He will be claimed. Melo man is back. Watchout World!

The cash will be used on a new coach once they whack Boylen.

Coaches don't count against the salary cap. Third time now. You sure you pay attention to the league?

Will the Bulls follow suit and give him a jersey like Atlanta did when they never played him?

Officially it doesn't but I'm sure it counts in the Reinsdorf salary cap.

Guess they got rid of Holiday to free up his number!

Best Bull #7 in history, Kukoc, Gordon, or Melo? Or /checks basketball reference/ Tornike Shengelia?

Dude I know that. It still doesn't mean that they haven't factored it into the equation. The fact that it doesn't factor into the cap makes your "money"argument even dumber than first thought.

I got a 50 spot which says Boylen is gone by the end of the year. What say you? Should be easy since i don't follow the league.

So you think they fire Hoiberg, make Boylen the coach...give him some more money...and they are going to fire him before the end of this season?

I will put $50 on that

I'm sorry worded it wrong. I have him to be gone after the season. He will finish this season out then he is going to be canned. He won't be the coach at the start of next season. Thats what I meant

Bulls will make about 900 grand off this deal. That almost pays off Boylen's deal.

Gotcha, I agree with you on that. I don't think he will be the coach to start next season as well....and I sure hope we are right. If he is I may be a full time Maverick/Luka fan.

Dude, the cap money must be spent on players only and there's a minimum they must spend every year on players. Just because coaches don't factor into the cap doesn't mean organizations approach coaching hires as if they have no budget. There's always a budget and spending 10M on coaches next year like you think they will just easily go along with is super naive.

I won't bet with you because like I said before the Bulls will fire Boylen even though they just gave him more money if there's a strong public reaction against keeping him on. Absent a strong PR disaster I do think they'll keep him on to minimize the money they have tied up in coaching salaries for next year (Hoiberg plus Boylen).

Originally you said that he would be the coach next year. You were cocksure about it. It was a money thing. Now you're already wavering even though you were certain of it as late as a week ago. It won't take a large backlash. Most people are ambivalent about the Bulls. He is a terrible coach. Thats why he is going to be whacked. Nothing to do with money.

It will cost an extra 3-4 mil to hire a new coach. That isn't a shit load of money. Owners eat contracts every year.

Boylen was never intended to be the long term answer. I don't need for you to explain NBA salary structure to me. That money can still be used in a creative way to pay off Boylen's deal.

Wonder if he'll go into Springfield in a Rockets or Bull Jersey?
