I'd consider trading the pick for cash.

No doubt it will be high character from a big program

I’m thinking LA will jump at the chance to trade Lebron straight up for the pick.

The NBA has them. LeBron doesn't have one.

No one is going to trade for him unless he personally orchestrates it. He's not going to any team against his will

It will be some decent player that won't fucking matter. So who cares? They've got a bunch of decent players. Which means 43 wins and the 8 seed. Then when all of them really mature they get the 5 seed. Which still won't matter. Then they blow it up and rebuild again.

Even if you finish with the worst record, you still have a 86% chance of not getting the 1st pick. There’s now a 35% chance a team in the 6-14 range drafts #1 as opposed to 18% before. Take the Pelicans and Grizzlies — they each would have had a 10% chance at breaking into the top 3 with the old rules. Now they have a 26% shot at landing in the top 4 (NBA draws the first 4 slots). It’s just a lot more chaotic.
