Ike, you have to show up at a remote. I gotta have a beer with you and talk sports.
not in chitown much, and never had the urge to go to a score remote.
but getting back to topic, after sleeping on it there is only one thing really troubling me about the bull and it is that lack of fight. i, and
everyone else expected to see at least 5 games of just some brutally hard play, on both sides. we expected blood on everyone, we expected gordon to rise up and be the man he has worked so hard to be. we expected kirk to irritate the opposition so much there is a huge multiple-brawl on court. We expected deng to put an end to this 'classy team' shit and start using those bony elbows for something other then slowing his dribbles down. we at least expected duhon's spine to explode from effort. We even knew detroit would try to push us around like miami does, so why all of a sudden do the guys in the red jersey's keep pulling their pants down at half court and beg for the fulfillment?
if i was out there, i would be like thomas. "fuck them, fuck them all" is the first thing i think when i see him now. he doesnt care- if youre playing against him, you WILL know when he is playing, you WILL NOT be able to ignore him, and you WILL NOT like him. in fact it seems clear his rep around the league is "bitch", good kind of course. tommy harris sort of bitch. every time tyrus steps on the court, there are a million and one bull fans feeling the exact same feeling- "get em motherfucker"
the difference? tyrus has something to prove. he thinks he can, and wants to be the greatest rookie that ever graced the court. the rest of the bulls have already proven they are a playoff team, and they are fully aware this isnt their last shot at a title.
fully aware. Its this 'theres next year, and we have a lotto pick' attitude that is really fuckin this series up. the bulls NEED to believe this might be the last year they ever play, the NEED to act on their aggression and start HAMMERING people on court. because in-game, of course, is one of the few places you
wont be arrested for fighting. take away the consequences when i think about starting a fight? shit.... you wouldnt be able to tell if youre watchin me or me on ufc...
i guess we can blame it on skiles. if i were him, i would make the team watch old magic games where he was a 4ft player with 7 feet of balls and sack draggin behind him up and down the court. i would tell the team that we are not the 'class of the nba' anymore, we do not have to suck up to the officials. we're in now, the calls have been much more even then the past two years (beside kirk)- its time to let the leash go and let the players thug this shit out. its the only way to maintain some sort of respect because even winning alone wont do that. we did win, we killed miami, and all they do is think were 'cute'. im so fuckin sick of it. be nice guys off the court were it really matters, the nba playoffs has no place for kindness except for the fans (of similar team taste)
