Non interim since 86 1. Collins 2. Jackson 3. Floyd 4. Cartwright 5. Skiles 6. Del Negro 7. Thibs 8. Hoiberg 9. Boylen. The only coach with NBA head coaching experience prior to coaching the Bulls was Skiles. Why? Simple. Bulls do not want to pay top dollar for head coaches. Its obvious. Rookie coaches have unproven track records and thus will come cheap. |

Torborg would have been really good if they gave him another arm or two (Charlie Hough? ) and a friggin' second baseman. Kirk McCaskill sucked it up, too. |

In all fairness....it was time for Ozzie to go. he was good and I do think he was a net positive for 2005, but man....when Ozzie left, it was needed. |

He does so for players only out of necessity although he has tried on several occasions to bypass the agent of a represented player. The ethics of this aside he absolutely refuses to involve agents for any non player staff. So the reason he gets what he gets at gym and coach for his teams is not because he is cheap. It is because anyone with any options would tell him to go pound sand if he tried to pull that bush league garbage with them. His only options are first time guys desperate for a first shot or damaged retreads needing redemption |

See jr likes his inequality in his negotiations because he is always throwing in kinky shit a professional wouldn’t allow. Deferred money is one of his favorite moves but he has others You notice that he took over that machado negotiation and blew it. Then they tried to explain to the world that they offered the most money. They weren’t entirely lying by one interpretation...the jr bullshit interpretation. However by the interpretation of the rest of the world he was 50’million short |

Skiles is the only NBA coach that fits the retread model by the way. If you look at the vast if not all of their hires they have all been hired at less than market rate. Sure he doesn't want to work with agents but some of the Bulls coaches have had agents. Phil had an agent and so did Doug. Sure Skiles had one also. Those are the ones i know about. |

What's funny is that Hoiberg was as inexperienced as the rest of the list but he was a departure from them insofar as he was given a 5 year contract and was one of the top 12 or so highest paid coaches in the league. And yet the guys who gave him that money after he never proved anything and didn't even bother to interview anyone else continue to have endless job security and followed up that rousing success with naming another coach without doing any interviews. |
