Nas wrote: I was talking to some friends about this yesterday. What 3 players in NBA history would you want to take a last second shot? Here is my 3:
MJ Kobe Bird Robert Horry has more big last second shots than Kobe. I can't remember any game that Kobe won on a last second shot. Maybe it is marketing, but Jordan has 2 shots that everyone knows(last one as a bull, and craig ehlo, and he has a bunch of last second assists to kerr, paxson, pippen). Bird has some also. I don't think Kobe comes close on the list. Magic, Bird, Jordan. |

MJ Bird Reggie Miller Kobe did make a last second shot to win a playoff game several years back, don't remember the details though. |

Reggie's 8 point explosion in about 10 seconds puts him in there on it's own. |

What is one example? I'm sure he has but you would think any big shot he had to win a big game would be in commercials. http://www.82games.com/random12.htm Take a look at this page. |

Nas wrote: You could put up the same stat about MJ. It's a fact that when the game is on the line in the 4th quarter Kobe is as good as it gets. Reminds you of a certain #23 at times.
No, it's not a fact. In fact, the fact is that Kobe misses 3/4 of his game winning shots. He has made 10 and missed 29. It's a fact that more than a few players in the NBA shoot a higher percentage on those and according to the lakers blog that I linked to Carmelo Anthony could miss 21 straight last second shots and still be at the same percentage as Kobe. |
