Is Tim Duncan the best player in the league since Jordan retired? I am starting to think he is and it may not even be close. His supporting cast is decent. It's much better than what Kobe has but without him they probably wouldn't be a playoff team. Tony Parker is a good player...but not a top 5 pg. Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Baron Davis,Lebron James(if you count him as a PG) are all easily better than him. These people probably are: Hinrich, Andre Miller, Iverson(if you count him as a PG) I'm sure I missed a few. Manu Ginobili wouldn't make a top 10 and maybe even a top 20 list either. There are too many names to mention. No other player in the league could win one title with that supporting cast. All they do is dominate and it would be my guess that they will do the same to whoever they play in the finals. He won his first two titles with an aging David Robinson and won another title without another future hall of famer. The same cannot be said for any other championship team since 1990(with Houston being the only possibility if Clyde Drexler doesn't make the hall). He is well on his way to his 4th championship and I'd be shocked if he doesn't get it. He is also incredibly boring to watch for the casual fan and the only emotion he shows is acting like the referee killed his family after every time there is contact. At his age, he could very easily win at least 6 titles. I personally don't think he is Jordan, but he has led one team, and possibly two teams to championships with much less other talent on the roster than Jordan. |
