He wants out of Houston. Donovan used to coach him in OKC. Will the Bulls have any interest in trading for him?

We should have all figured out he’s a Barkley class first ballot HoF player who will never win a ring when Durant didn’t want to play with him anymore.

Also, Chicago media would eat him alive.

The show would be pretty good for a couple years.

This is a hard no.

Why anyone would believe you could build around him given all we’ve seen is beyond me.

I love the guy but the sun has chosen never to shine on him. Charles Barkley is a good comp.

You put a young chuck on those KD Thunder teams and they get the job done, I believe

Post subject:  Re: Westbrook?

yeah, this is not a fair comparison. You can see why Westbrook loses. Ball stops with him, plays out of control...no respectable three point shot so everyone dares him to shoot...

He sure eclipsed Rose though. If I knew for a fact that the Bulls were going to hang around another three years in the 4-6 spots in the EC....eh, maybe?

No, not even then. The dude offends my basketball sensibilities. Sad thing is, if the Rockets had hung on to Chris Paul, they might have got to the Finals this year. Paul made the Thunder semi competitive just by passing the ball and being able to hit an open J. He has a high basketball IQ.

Yeah I dont think it is fair to call him Barkley. Barkley was the better player and I think would have won with the teams Russ has been on

The NBA MVP was on a team with the NBA's best record and couldn't get it done in 1993. He said the Suns were the better team and blamed himself for the loss.

And I think that is another reason to not call him Barkley. Russ would never own anything like that.

Barkley didnt win a ring because he ran into the GOAT. Any other time period and Barkley wins at least 1 ring

I compared him to Barkley in the sense both are first ballot HoF who will never get a ring.

Idk what you guys are currently doing with my comparison.

I can switch it to Malone or Ewing if that’s what is needed.

I get it. Didn’t mean to misconstrue the comp. was just adding a related thought is all.

Speaking of player profiles though, does Russ have a truly good comp? This has long been asked and I’ve never heard one that seemed right...

While his string of triple double seasons was aided by his teammates willingness to help him compile stats, that 3 year run is still a truly amazing sports achievement. Of course once coaches could game plan for him in the playoffs and the game slowed down, he was obviously less effective. Making bad decisions etc. but the mans athletic skill set and motor is truly one of a kind.

he got injured in that series too, and wasn't fully himself. Remember that bulky elbow guard?

Losing Ced Ceballos in the Sonics series killed them.

OK. How about Ewing as a comp? He struggled from time to time in big games.
