I’m inclined to agree with conns that this dude is a nobody but whatever. Terrible draft. Maybe he becomes ok.

Hopefully they are going to trade him.

At least he’s used to coming off the bench. Tanking for next year already.

This kid wasn’t good enough to start for his college team but somehow good enough to be the 4th overall pick in the NBA draft..?

Did the Bulls consult Ryan Pace here? What’s the story here?

It’s a weak draft.

That’s all I got.

Maybe he drives a Corolla.

Yeah...that's what I was thinking. Not a lot of sure things in this draft, though.

Ehh, sometimes. Those are also pre-requisites for reaching potential and shouldn’t be overlooked.

He’s a total project. Makes me think they are trying to bottom out further not go the GarPax get better and make the playoffs ASAP.

While I don’t disagree.. none of that covers what he actually does well as a player, and you tend to hear/read people fall back on those descriptions when describing the players actual playing ability is underwhelming.

I mean, how many good character ‘hard working’ guys have we seen the Bulls draft now? Jimmy might be the only one who legit developed into a difference maker.

I’m willing to give AK the benefit of the doubt. I think everyone should. I would agree with trashing this draft pick if GarPax made it.

Ben Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, Nocioni, etc were great.

Ball had much more exciting descriptors.

It's a different regime now. I don't know shit about this guy, but if he's an athletic, 6'8'' versatile defender who works his ass off to get better everyday then we probably didn't draft a total bust. That's about the best you can hope for in a draft like this imo.

I'm willing to give AK time to turn around this roster.

True, but character and work ethic aren't included in those. Kid is pretty much drowning in red flags.

I loved Noc, but "great"? You related to the guy?

Good role players, I’ll give you that.

‘Great’?

No. I’m not going anywhere near ‘great’ for any of those guys.

Nah, just meant fun to watch. I mean if you're unlucky and fall out of the top five in the best draft of the century so far, then I guess you sort of make peace with the leftovers.

Good, sure.

Great is a word I reserve for super stars and Deng was never a super star.

Butler is close to being great imo

Nah, either would I. I don't mean individually great. Just good players who revived basketball in this town for a bit. Then Rose came along. 2004 - 2015 is probably the second best period of basketball in this city since the 1990s. Have no idea what happened before that. Not sure if the 1980s were as cool to watch as 2004-2015. I heard there was a lot of cocaine.

Your standard for “great” is pretty generous. And I liked Deng.
