18-49 from the field over the last 5-6 games. Looking more and more like the backup I always believed him to be.

4-5 assists per game from a dude billed to be a "great passer" when he entered the league.

And I'm trying to roll with him but for 20 million per year you have to get more bang for your buck than what he is providing.

He's gotta know to take one for the team last night.

Drop after that Embiid punch and sell that shit like you got Rudy T'd.

There's something off about the way he approaches in game situations. The only way I can describe it is "inexperience". Even though tangibly he IS experienced and he IS skilled.

I don't see him as the problem...yet. Vuc has been disappointing. Lonzo is leading breaks and distributing the ball, which is what you missed last year with White being miscast as a PG.

He is being 20 mil per year and giving you back up PG numbers. He is currently being outplayed by Tyrese Maxey. Maxey would be backing up if Ben Simmons was playing.

Vuk has a track record of playing at a high level. Ball Does not. I just hope he can be a starting caliber PG for 20 mil per year.

You watch the games ltg so stop pretending hes not a good passer and stop ignoring his non box score stat contributions like vegan mentioned. He needs to play better than he had so far and he likely will.

You have been saying he "will" play better for 5 years and the dude just hasn't or shown that he is capable of it. It's old now.

The numbers don't lie. He puts up backup point guard #s but makes 20 million a year.

11 points, 4 and a half assists per game, and 5 rebounds per game. On 41% shooting. And 3 TOs per game. That's essentially his career average. That's who he is at this point of his career. A mediocre player.

He plays a tadbit better defense than I thought he would but other than that he does nothing else which you notice while out on the floor.

Wait is the argument that Ball isn’t the best PG in the league? Totally agree… 100%. Is he better than Sato? Also agree with that. He is definitely not the best PG for sure, he is a huge upgrade though and fits a lot of what this team needs. He has impact in the same way that smart and rondo do. Lot of defensive help, not the greatest offensive threat. He is paid appropriately and fits a need. Sure I would prefer the original dream team lineup, but you also can only get what you can get at any given time. Ball is fine and surely isn’t hurting this team.

For 20 mil per you could do a lot better than him. Which is my point. I'm trying to roll with him for the sake of the team but at this point he is nothing more than a poor man's Ricky Rubio.

They could have chopped that money up and got a lot more than what they are getting from him. This was the only questionable move to me that AK has made.

Really impressed with the shooting improvements that he displayed last year or the year prior. The anti-Ben Simmons in terms of work ethic and responsibility.

He has definitely hurt the team and has definitely helped the team. He damn near blew the game against Toronto. I have doubts about him in crunch time. And 4-12 in playoff games isn't going to cut it when there's a Caruso and an Ayo who seem to be perfectly fine as "replacement" level crunch timers.

Incremental improvements. I'd happily take a year 2, 21 year old Tyrese Maxey over him right now. For much cheaper on a Rookie Scale Contract.

He went from a really bad pro to mediocre. Ben Simmons started really good and became All NBA in short order.

Yes, if the Bulls drafted better they could have better players on rookie contracts. They didn't though.

His team has been in the playoffs each year he has been in the league. Ball's teams have made the playoffs when exactly?

Your reply doesn't actually have a point. That's why.

If AK offered Ball for Simmons the laughter from Morey would blow him outta of the UC and into the Chicago River.

For Lonzo Ball hell yeah. And a number of other players as well. Depends on what they would have to give up for him.

And what would you do to ensure he doesn't pout his way out of the city because someone said something mean to him. That's basically what he's doing right now in Philly. Oh, and what are you going to do when he refuses to work on something a coach directed him to work on. That's sort of his thing

Probably nothing. Unlike you I don't get caught up in melodrama. I look at talent. And he is it. You place him on this team and they become title contenders overnight.

He doesn't need a jump shot to be a very good player. He is already very good. Like I told FF in the playoffs he needs to shoot free throws at a respectable clip. He is about a 60% regular season free throw shooter. He gets to 70%-75% and he is cool.

I'm not approving of what he is doing in Philly but it's not a given that he will do that anywhere else. I'd roll the dice on him but I wouldn't give up the franchise for him. Ball, Coby and a 1st and let's roll as soon as yesterday.

Philly would never go for that though. Contrary to what you might think.

I think your tunnel vision approach works better in NBA 2k22 than it works in real life. Ben Simmons' talent isn't on trial. His character is on trial. I'm sure you know of many players who derailed their careers and the trajectories of entire franchises because of character issues. Right now, Ben Simmons is that guy.

And I know many more whom people believed were finished when they actually were not. Ben Simmons is trying to force his way out of Philly. He isn't trying to retire from basketball.

And if you are asking me whether I want a guy that helped, along with Embiid, take a franchise that was a basketball joke and make them into a contender over a guy that has never played on a team that is a playoff contender the answer is hell yeah.
