Interesting, but if Ric Bucher is the one reporting this, I say garbage.

It's been widely reported tht that Bulls would not include Deng in any deal, and I don't see them trading both of their young big men as well. I don't see a trade between these teams until this group fails again in the playoffs.

Chris Sheridan is the one reporting.......I agree that the package mentioned is too much, but I found it interesting that he mentions the idea that Deng is the dealbreaker being a bit exaggerated. Deng could be in the deal, but not along with those other 3 players.

His inside source was probably Sam Smith.

I say it's absolute garbage because of the salaries. Any package would have to involve Noc because of his new deal. But he can't be moved until the end of December (or possibly February).

I know Kobe is awesome, but does he really fill a need for the Bulls? Don't we really need a dominating inside presence to free up our backcourt?

Ben Gordan, Tyrus Thomas, Andres Nocionni and a first round pick for Kobe...If I'm paxson, Deal Done December 15th.

I don't see a trade being worked out for two primary reasons:

1) Paxson has built this team up through the draft (primarily), and he's unlikely to trade them for one young player.

2) Matching salaries for Kobe would be extremely difficult.

That trade makes no sense for the Celtics if they want to compete for a championship this year.

Im getting more and more skeptical about a Kobe trade going through, which is fine because we have one of the two or three best nucleus's in the NBA. If they want Deng, Tyrus, Gordon, and Noah we should tell them to fuck off.

It would've been nice to have a Kobe down the stretch when we pissed our pants against the Cavs and the Nets at the end of last season and wound up with the 3rd seed.

Thomas or Noah will never be all star players.

You cant universally say that. I doubt Noah will be, I think Tyrus definitely has a decent chance at it, but after 1 year for 1, and no regular season games for the other, its kinda impossible to declare that definitively.

If the Bulls have Ben Gordon and Luol Deng - locked up for sure this year, and on the record as saying they'll match any restricted free agent off either gets - then they're both under contract through the 08/09 season.

I believe I read that Kobe can opt out of his current contract in two years.

So WHY would the Bulls trade for Bryant?

It doesn't make much sense, unless they think they have to win this year or next.

Is the Score the only media outlet reporting that Kobe could be traded to the Bulls today/immediate future ?

If so, I trust them about as much as ESPN on these trade rumors.

There are a lot of people reporting about a potential trade. I'm assuming Bryant has let the Lakers know he would veto any deal that includes Deng. He wants to play with Kirk and Deng. That would be a scary threesome.

who else is on today's developments ?

Yeah, and Kobe would probably have to buy an $8M ring for his wife if he got down like that...

But I do agree, those three together would be scary good.

Not enough shots on the floor for those three. Also, would Kobe and Skiles get along? Kobe doesn't seem like he would be all for Skiles blue collar work ethic and practices. Just a thought?

1. Luol Deng and Kirk, especially Kirk, are among the most unselfish players on the team.

2. Skiles would love Kobe. Kobe is one of the hardest workers/players in the NBA. He's a gym rat who is completely focused when it comes to basketball. He also plays hard on defense, which seperates him from alot of other diva guards.

The Schuster report sounds like nothing but speculation to me. I don't think he knows anything more than us.

He doesn't. I listened to it on the web and it's a bunch of nothing.

He's not a boyscout but I think he gets a bad rap. Much like I think Allen Iverson got a bad rap.

I'm not questioning if he knows the Scout Oath, but I think he's a me guy that won't win much longer especially without an above average Shaq. Iverson and Kobe can't do things alone and win, they don't make guys better aorund them enough because they don't care.

Author:  The Original Kid Cairo [ Tue Oct 30, 2007 1:53 pm ]

I don't think Kobe needs a Shaq to be successful. He just needs teammates who will bust their asses just as hard as he does. The Bulls have almost a team full of guys like that. The Lakers? Kwame Brown? Lamar "only if I feel like it" Odom? Nah. I think Kobe would fit in really well with the likes of a Hinrich, Deng, etc.

Author:  buryman [ Tue Oct 30, 2007 1:58 pm ]
Post subject:

I think the speculation of Kobe and this Bulls team is hard because we don't know what the final team would like to get a guy like him. Will Hinrich and Deng be around for him to play with? I don't think it will go through based on the Lakers not getting enough for him and the Bulls or anyone else not giving enough for him.

I think his desire just shows through in different ways, which are similar to MJs ways. I think Skiles wants to win, i think Bobby Knight wants to win, they just show it in different ways.
