Was Chandler a MAX guy? I loved Chandler. When they drafted him I thought he was the most athletic of the bunch and would develop a baby J. yet nothing. he got stronger, which helped the D and Rebounds. As far as comparing him with Wallace. I think at the end of the year they will be very similar as I expect Wallace's number to improve when Noah and Gray play more. The big difference in the 2 was the contract payments. pretty sure Wallce gets another $18M this year, with $17M last year, thus $15M due on his final 3 years, an affordable (very tradeable) $5 M a year. While Tyson would have prevented you from signing anyone else and in both cases, the offesne is just not there. |

You know what's sucks however. Chandler would be alot more apealing to the Lakers in a trade right now. They might be even but had we signed Chandler that Kobe trade would be done. Gordon & Chandler or Hinrich & Chandler + others lessor guys would have got that Kobe deal done. There is no doubt in my mind. They'd take a young Tyson but have no interest in a 33 year old Wallace. Damn that sucks. |

If Chandler were playing this well on the Bulls, I wouldn't be looking to move him. He looks like a double-double guy in New Orleans. |

Wallace was brought in with the idea that you need a defensive identity to win a championship. He has made the Bulls a better defensive team than they were with Tyson, now they have to go out and execute well enough to get the trophy (or use him to get Kobe). If either of those happens, even Nas will have to admit that it was the right move. |

Im surprised noone has brought that up yet. Lamarcus would be perfect for us right now. |

Good point. I'm convinced Tyrus Thomas has the basketball mind of an 8th grader. He's all energy but no direction. |

Someone should also start a "Guys Kirk Hinrich Can't Guard" thread. Maybe not, though, since it would be longer than the OG discussion in a matter of days. For the record, here's the list based on this year's contests so far: Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Andre Miller, Cuttino Mobley (it's funny how he wasn't so "unguardable" once Skiles put Thabo on him), Kid Cairo, Nas, me, Mike North's giardinera-infused shoes, etc..... |

They don't hand out trophies for starting out slow and doing just enough the second half to make the playoffs. If they did then the Bulls would have 2 trophies! Wallace, Chandler, it doesn't matter if we had them both. We still can't score in the post. |

Don't you listen to the MJH show? Carmen Sandiego and Harry Balls think Hindrick is one of the best defensive players in the league! The longer Johnny Numonic hangs on to his boys, the less value he is going to get for them. There is not one player I would say is an untouchabull. Do whatever it takes to get Kobe and stop pretending we have the second coming of the Detroit Pistons. |

i dont like this thread. chandler and curry went as far as they could here. they would not have been any better had they stayed with the bulls. a change of uniform is what was best for all parties. |

Nas wrote: spmack wrote: Nas someone should start a LaMarcus Aldridge vs Tyrus Thomas thread... I think you might have to wait a few years to do this because the Bulls think Tyrus will develop into a special player. He has shown flashes but I'm not sure if he is smart enough to reach is potential. He's a player without a position, but he's also extremely young so I think we have to be patient with him. As for some of the other talent on this roster, that's another story. |

The Lakers drafted a point guard in Round 1 this past season. With all of these rumors, do we even know that the Lakers wanted Hinrich ? |

Can you remind me when he showed one of these flashes? Was it the one time he successfully caught the ball in the post? Or the one time he dribbled the ball twice in succession without dribbling it off his foot? |

Regarding the Aldridge-Thomas debate, Spinnin' Bucket deserves some kudos. Prior to the '06 draft, Aldridge was his guy. He wrote some excellent posts analyzing Aldridge's skills and potential, and his writing has proven to be prophetic. Good job, Bucket! |

Nas's post was about his time as a Bull, not as a Hornet. I posted the link of the 2nd half of 04-05 for you. I was a season ticket holder at the time and because of his play I bought his jersey. Yeah, I saw those. I remember that stretch that he played very well, and then parlayed that into a big contract and a shitty 05-06. While he had a bunch of double doubles during that stretch, most of his points were still on put backs and dunks. He still didn't really have any "offensive game" to speak of. The move to sign Wallace and trade Chandler for PJ and JR Smith was questionable at the time, and in hindsight looks absolutely awful. |

A great deal of Tyson's offensive sucess is having a point guard that can penetrate thus forcing the big to come over which helps to alleviate Tyson from having to do to much with the ball. |

Chandler looks a lot beefier in his new pictures than he did as a bull. Wonder if that has anything to do with his improvement. |

I watched some of that game and Chandler was a beast. His offensive moves were still a bit shaky, but if the ball keeps going in it's hard to complain. He hit one bank shot he literally just threw up after getting fouled, but they actually ran some plays for him. Unbelievable. Never would have imagined any team doing that. I still wouldn't trust him outside of 10 feet, but that's a marked improvement. When he was on the Bulls I didn't want him shooting unless he was dunking it. |

Watched the game, and he was great. Constantly, tipping the ball to himself, and able to put the ball back into the basket. His hands aren't brick anymore! |

I think David West beneifts a lot more than Chandler does. You don't see New Orleans ever post up Chandler - he gets most of his points on put backs because he's good at keep the ball alive. He benefits from Paul on those lob dunks, of which there are a few a game. |
