Post subject:  Doc Rivers on Gray

"He knows how to play," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "He is a guy who concerns you. He gets low and what that does is make defenders more honest. He's [an example] of what we do in [NBA scouting].
If he came out a year earlier, he would have been a top-10 or -15 pick. But we look and start picking apart what guys can't do. The game against [Roy] Hibbert in the Big East final, which was probably Hibbert's best game of the year, he shut down Gray, and [Gray] was penalized for that game."

I guess Bernsie knows more than Doc Rivers too?

if gray had pigmentation in his skin, bernstein wouldn't be so set against him. gray will have a nice niche as a post scorer off the bench for many years in this league. he'll start for crummy teams, but ideally he's the first big man off the bench for a good team.

I won't even go so far as to say he will be a rotation player as his career develops - I think that's entirely possible, don't get me wrong, but I'm only focusing on the current Bulls team, and he's playing well, so I guess I don't get the Dan Bernstein logic of 'Gray sucks' when he's one of the few guys who is producing when in the game.
