Just for this year. Why not? He'll get a better grasp of his players. He's just as qualified as Pete Myers. Pax is gonna hire a qualified guy next year. Isiah Thomas is doing both GM and coaching duties. Others have done it. It's Paxon's team. He should see them first hand in game situations. He should try to fix it. Reinsdorf is paying Skiles 7 million to go away. Pax shouldn't even get a raise for the extra work. I'll bet Pax is thinking about doing it. |

From what I understand, Pete Myers is only doing it for a game or two, and then Jim Boylan will take over (which makes absolutely no sense to me either). Isn't this the second head coach firing for Pax now? Cartwright and now Skiles? How many is he allowed before he gets the noose slipped around his neck. I think Pax had best concentrate on his GM duties - as he is just as culpable (if not more) than Skiles was. The contract talks with Deng/Gordon clearly had a negative impact on both - not to mention the Kobe rumors. Now Pax has to right the ship - or the Bulls should strongly consider getting rid of him next Christmas Eve - if not earlier. |

Grid, Skiles is Pax's first coach. He inherited Cartwright and fired him 15 games into his tenure. He doesn't count. |

Popovich did it. Fired I think Avery Johnson, but then took over and stayed. yes, sure helps to have Tim Duncan |

I'm not saying Pax should do this permanently. Just for the remainder of the season. Why waste time with one of the assistants filling in? Hell, Pax is gonna hire a guy next year and he'll want his own staff. Pete Myers and the rest of this current staff won't be here next year. The players know that. Pax will still be the GM next year. Let's have the players play for Pax for the final 57 games. Maybe after being with these guys every day Pax won't be in love with them anymore and be willing to trade one or two. |

OK... Pax is still on the clock. MAKE A TRADE ALREADY!!!! Get a real point guard and a legit big man - you've got enough 'assets'. |

Normally I would agree, but the interim coach knows he's just a lame duck anyway. |

Why not make "Stormin' Norman" Van Lier the coach. He's always wanted a chance to coach in the NBA, couldn't do worst than the other guys. Maybe he could do something with these guys. |

I love Norm, but he'd be another Doug Collins or Bill Cartwright. He'd do a lot of screaming and yelling at the players and not much else. Norm would probably throw some guys under the bus like Cartwright used to do to Fizer...or like Doug Collins used to do to Kwame Brown. That approach didn't make either player any better. Maybe Paxson should try pulling Hubie Brown away from the broadcast booth. |

That's my point. The interim coach is a lame duck. Pax wants certain things done. He wants to see certain guys get minutes. Go to the bench and see what you want to see Pax. Don't leave it to a lame duck guy. Next year pick your coach and you'll have a better grasp of what you should do. You'll have control over what you want to evaluate. |

Oh, God no! He'd sign with the Bulls and then interview with his next team two days later. |

I bet he could get Brown CHEAP! I think Brown would love to come back with this team and beat Isiahs ass down. We all know the Nucleus of a good team is there and they need a superstar of which I think Brown would push Pax to make such a deal. |

I find it odd when men coach in the WNBA (especially Bill Laimbeer, that's really strange) but could you ever imagine a woman coaching in the NBA? Bizarre |
