For Larry Hughes & Drew Gooden from Cleveland. They get Ced Simmons from Seattle. Griffin goes to the Sonics. Wallace and Smith to the Cavs. Bulls also gave sombody a 2nd round pick. Good. Don't know if Hughes has an expiring contract. Remarkable that Pax got somebody to take Wallace and his massive contract with 2 years left. |

Agreed. I'll be interested to hear what LaBron has to say. |

Hughes is a terrible shooter. Shooting 37% this year. That's pathetic for a 6'5 guard. I googled his name and some Cavs fans set up a hate site for him. They pleaded with him to stop taking bad shots. He's 28 in his 9th year. Hopefully his contract is up after this year. Anybody know? |

Rumor has it that Seattle is involved. This could be good... |

This may be a little premature but after years of hearing rumors of Kobe, Garnett and Gasol I'm a little underwhelmed by the payoff being Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden. |

Hughes deal is close to being as bad. 12 million a year through 2010. Gooden is a FA next year, getting close to 8 M a year. |

So money wise, it's pretty much a wash? I'd still take Hughes & Gooden, basketball wise I have no idea what the Cavs are thinking here...Of the 3 players, at least Gooden has some value on the court, imo...are they going to play Wallace at PF and Illgauskas at C at the same time? Good lord... |

Well, I guess that means the end for Ben Gordon if they have to commit to Hughes until 2010. Assuming they won't trade Hughes in the off season. He's a big guard. Something we've been lacking. |

ESPN is saying this is a three team deal with the Sonics being the third team and the biggest part of the deal is Wally going from Seattle to Cleveland. Duhon would go to Seattle. Bulls would get Ced Simmons, Drew Gooden and larry Hughes. |

He's a big guard. Something we've been lacking. Although this bothers me because Thabo has been playing alot better with more playing time. |

I think Wally really helps them. Seeing as how Gibson just sits out on the arc ala Dell Curry, Wally can do the same thing. His problem is he can't do anything else other than hit open shots, but he won't be asked to Obviously not the help he was probably hoping for, but I think Wally helps them a lot more than Hughes |

Bulls also move Joe Smith in this deal. When I see it come up again on ESPN News, I'll post the particulars. |

So can anyone tell me how this improves the Bulls? From what I understand, there are a few reasons to make a trade in the NBA. 1)Get draft picks and young players 2)Free up salary cap space for the next season 3)Add another superstar to your team to compliment your current superstar We traded bad Ben Wallace for Bad Larry Hughes with the same salary cap situation. What am I missing? |

Some caller put it correctly on B&B. It's just a trade of our crap for your crap. Sometimes that needs to be done I guess. Hughes and Wallace have the same huge salaries with poor play. But Hughes is more productive if we can convince him not to shoot so much. Plus he's 4 years younger than Wallace. |

I like this deal for several reasons: 1. You get rid of the declining production of Ben Wallace 2. I like the addition of a low post scorer like Drew Gooden who in the right situation is a legit double double threat. 3. While I don't like Hughes on the offensive end, his defense is very good. 4. I think Cedric Simmons can develop into a decent power forward in the league. 5. You know allow Joakim Noah and Aaron Gray to get more time this year to develop to determine your needs in the draft next year. Other than that, the deal sucks |

Forgot point 6: You now have a bargaining chip with Ben Gordon that if he doesn't want to come back here, you can sign and trade him away. |

It's pretty apparent that Pax will either quit or be asked to quit when the Bulls are statistically eliminated. Who do you think will be a good GM to bring in? |

Paxson will get a chance to choose the next coach and be given a year or two of buffer now. |

Don't forget that Drew Gooden played at a winning program in college. He will join Duhon, Deng, Hinrich, Gordon and the other college hall of famers that will lead us to the promised land. |
